Kathleen Margaret Teague Teague
October 31, 1927-August 11, 2026
Kathleen Margaret Teague Teague was preceded in death by her husband of 54+ years, Earl Henry Teague; her parents John Anderson Teague and Mamie Lee Poarch Teague; an infant sister Shelia Truex Teague, brothers Owen Nelson Teague (Garnie Childers) and Billie K. Teague (Janie Daniels).
She is survived by children: daughter Shelia Teague Austin (Wm. Robert), sons Charles Lee Teague (Anne Patterson Teague) and Douglas Earl Teague (Susan Rowland Teague) all of Taylorsville. Grandchildren are Dinah Austin, Andrea Austin Pennell (Shawn) all of Taylorsville, Stephanie Teague Pratt (Todd) and Logan Patterson Teague (Anna) of Raleigh, and Sarah Teague Loudermilk (Chris) and Kate Teague Anthony (John) all of Taylorsville. She also had 9 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
Miss Kathleen was a hard worker with diverse interests. Her flower gardens were a showpiece and her sewing was exceptional. She couldn’t pass up a new plant or a pretty piece of fabric! Most of the granddaughters didn’t own a “bought” Sunday dress until they were big enough to buy their own. Her Sunday dinners were known community-wide. Her chicken and dumplings and white cake with fudge icing and little white pickles will be remembered for many years. There was always plenty to eat and it was always delicious. As she would shake hands with the acting pastor on Sunday mornings, she’d say “I have lunch today, if you haven’t had a better offer!”
Kathleen and Earl were members of Antioch Baptist Church for most of their married life. They served as Barracks Counselors at Caswell Baptist Assembly in the 1960s-70s and carried MANY young people to summer camp at Fort Caswell. They worked with the older children in Training Union for many years in the State Memory Work Tournaments during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. If students learned their verses, they earned a trip to Circus Hall of Cream in “the green bomb”. She chaired and served on numerous committees at Antioch and the Alexander Baptist Association throughout the years. She taught Sunday School from the time she was 14 years old (1941) until COVID.
Mrs. Teague and her husband Earl enjoyed Bluegrass music and square dancing. They often attended Bluegrass festivals and made trips with the senior citizens.
The family will receive friends from Noon until 2 p.m., Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Antioch Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Pastor Nathaniel Austin and Pastor Chance Kuzmo will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are: Shawn Pennell, Todd Pratt, Logan Teague, Chris Loudermilk, John Anthony and Alex Vannoy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts be given to Antioch Baptist Church Harry’s Hands or Lottie Moon. Thank you for your prayers during this time.
