We welcome you to visit with us whenever you are able. The Taylors church of Christ is patterned after the New Testament example of local churches. We believe in the authoritative word of God and will provide a Bible answer for everything we do in doctrine and practice. We exalt Jesus Christ and seek to glorify Him, not ourse

lves (Ephesians 3:21). Therefore, our efforts are directed toward promoting commitment to Christ, not to any man or institution (1 Corinthians 2:5). Our assemblies are simple. We pray (1 Timothy 2:1). We sing without the use of instruments (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16). We partake of the Lord's Supper using unleavened bread and fruit of the vine each first day of the week (1 Corinthians 11:23-29; Acts 20:7), And, we teach from God's word. All preaching and teaching comes from the Bible. We would be happy to study any of these things with you if you wonder why we worship the way we do. The financial support of this congregation comes from the free-will offerings of its members made on the first day of the week (1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 8:1-5; 9:6-7). We do not solicit gifts from those who are not members. Contributions are used for the spiritual growth of this church and for the support of men who are preaching the gospel in other areas. We believe the church can do all of the work God has given it to do: teach the gospel, build up the members, and help needy Christians. All other "good works" are the responsibility of individual Christians (Titus 2:11-14; James 1:27; Galatians 6:9-10). We currently have approximately 200 members, 2 full time preachers, 3 elders and 7 deacons. We have approximately 75 children between the ages of 1 month and 18 years of age with classes for all ages. We are thankful to God for continuing to allow our group to grow both in number and in the grace and admonition of the Lord.

New Year Bible Reading Resolutions. You are likely setting out on a journey to read the entire Bible this year, or read the New Testament, or some other kind of schedule. Great! Something to keep in mind as you read: have appropriate expectations. While the Bible is transformative and powerful, that does not mean that every single time you sit down to read you’re going to experience something incredible. We are after the cumulative effect here, not the single point-in-time reading that blows you away. You will have times that like for sure, but not always.

I like to think of it as meals which we eat. In my 37 years on earth, I have eaten thousands and thousands of meals. Most of them I do not remember specifically. There were some meals all along that I remember vividly because of the person I was with, the environment, or the quality of the food was so amazing that I had never had a similar experience. But 99.9% of the meals I have eaten in my life were just… well, good meals (for which I am grateful!). But even if I cannot remember specific details of each of the meals, I know this: each meal nourished me and gave me what I needed to grow and sustain life. So it is with Bible reading. Stay the course, friends. In the long run, you will look back and be amazed at how far God’s Spirit has brought you.
