Grace Baptist Church of Taylors, SC

Grace Baptist Church of Taylors, SC Grace Baptist Church is a body of Reformed Baptists who are dedicated to teaching, learning, and living Biblical truth. We make much of the grace of God.

Join us for Worship Sundays at 10:45 am & 5:00 pm. God’s glory is the most important thing to us. We are to live so that God will be admired in our homes and in the workplace, equip one another for Christ’s service and bringing heartfelt worship in the church. Everything we do is about living with a passion to see God’s kingdom come and His will being done on this earth as it is in heaven. Jesus h

as given His life for us and to us; we are committed to responding to that act of love by magnifying Him everyday for the rest of our lives. A high priority for us as a church is a spiritual atmosphere. We are called to be worshipers who find our greatest delight in our Lord. Faith, humility, love, and fervency should mark our church. It is by grace alone that we have come into such a wonderful relationship with God, and it is by God’s all sufficient grace that we live each day. The more we see the glory of God in the Lord Jesus Christ, the more we are amazed that we have the standing with Him that we have. We are not out to earn or prove anything – to live out a life of faith and joy in Jesus is enough. We want our conversations with each other to be saturated with talk of how we are interpreting and applying a life of faith to the circumstances of our own lives, seeing God’s hand at work in our daily lives and how that is producing more humility, love, and joy in us. So each of us has to cultivate our own hearts through individual and corporate Bible study and prayer. Our worship gatherings are a central way for us to magnify Jesus Christ. We want to be fully engaged during worship so that the Word of God will take root in hearts and minds and will make a deep impact in our lives. We will pursue a joyful love for each other and for all persons. We believe God is glorified through the sacrificial deeds of such joyful love. We value our relationships in our life together. We are a family, adopted by God as children in His family. We have joined ourselves to one another in a covenantal bond typically called church membership. We want to find authentic and practical ways to love each other in order to build friendships and strengthen our faith. With a fresh openness and a genuine interest in one another and to all new people, we aim to put understanding above accusation, forbearance above fault-finding, and biblical unity above the demand for uniformity. We treasure the unity we have being so different in many ways. Our church is also committed to be made up of people from all ethnic groups and all backgrounds. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ makes all men equal in the sight of God and all types of people are valuable servants of God. The Gospel makes us one in the Lord. As representatives of Jesus Christ, we are committed to missions at every level. Jesus is worthy to be talked about, trusted in, and loved by all people everywhere. Therefore, we are committed to proclaiming God’s perfect Law and His glorious Gospel of grace in Jesus Christ to every person possible without any discrimination. But we will not stop with sharing the Gospel. We will endeavor to plant local churches close to home and around the world. This is why we continue to set initiatives to pursue new efforts to spread the Gospel individually and together.

“What is that prophetic word more fully confirmed even than that experience they had on the Mount of Transfiguration? It is the Bible, God's Word, which we hold in our hands, which we read for ourselves. The inspired, authorized account of the dealings of God from creation into eternity, of the life and the ministry, the death, resurrection, ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is the Word of God spoken not just to a few, but to all. It's like a lamp shining in a dark place, piercing the darkness with the light of the glory of God. It is through the word Jesus still speaks to us.” - Jamie Howell, “The Transfiguration” 5.17.26

"If you seek to save your soul yourself in your own efforts, in your own strength, on your own terms, you're going to loose it... And if you willingly loose your life to Christ - and by that I mean you surrender going your own way, you surrender establishing your own life - if you entrust all of that to the Lord Jesus, you will gain life which is truly life." -Jamie Howell

We rejoice at God's grace and mercy to our church family. We have prayed and searched for nearly two years for a new Co-Pastor to serve GBC. Today our church voted unanimously to call Pastor TJ Johnson, from Aynor, SC, to serve in this role, and he has joyfully accepted this call. Please pray with us as Pastor TJ and his dear wife Jaime prepare for this move across the state to serve the Lord at GBC. More details to follow!

“Now that we live in a world that is under the curse of sin, Jesus is calling us out of that lifestyle… to follow Him whatever it might entail — return to the original design; turn from the seduction and the appeal of this broken, fallen world; live for the Lord Jesus; follow Him in devoted discipleship.” - Jamie Howell, "The Call of Discipleship" 5.10.26

"The scriptures call us to keep the law, and keeping the law, brothers and sisters, as we've seen in the past, is more than merely obeying it. It is cherishing it. It's bringing it close, and loving it, and honoring it, and hearing it, and heeding it, and holding onto it. And all these things can only be done if we are in Christ. All these things can only be done if the Lord Jesus Christ by His Holy Spirit recalibrates our taste buds and causes us to find the Word of God as honey sweetness." - Eric Abwao
