We ask that you join us in prayer for the souls of the dead, most especially Raymond “Ray” Horn Sr.+, a member of our parish family whom most at Prince of Peace never had the opportunity to meet.

Ray came to know our parish through the ministry of our deacons at NHC Healthcare Greenville, where he faithfully attended the weekly Catholic Communion service and joined other residents in watching our livestreamed Mass. As his life drew to a close, Fr Richard Tomlinson administered the Last Rites, and Fr Christopher Smith later came to pray with Ray.

There is something beautiful in knowing that our parish family extends beyond those we see in the pews. Through the quiet ministry of our priests and deacons, the Church goes out to meet Catholics like Ray, bringing Holy Communion, the Sacraments, prayer, and the life of the parish to them.

Especially fittingly, Ray himself had studied for several years in the Diocese of Bridgeport’s diaconate program.

Ray died on 23 May at the age of 91. His memorial Mass will be celebrated at Prince of Peace on Monday, 28 September at 12p.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

A Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat offers women and men who have experienced abortion a confidential, compassionate opportunity to begin or continue a journey of healing. Through a supportive, non-judgmental weekend, participants are invited to encounter hope, forgiveness, and peace.

The next retreat will be held November 6–8, 2026, in the Fort Mill area.

Since the fall of 2020, Fidelis at Prince of Peace has brought together girls and Catholic women of our parish in a sisterhood ordered toward something greater: the pursuit of virtue and holiness.

Each Tuesday, our Fidelis Sisters share a meal, enjoy some fun together, receive formation in the virtue of the week from a mentor, gather for small-group discussion, and conclude the evening with Night Prayer. It is friendship with a purpose: helping young women learn to recognize what is true, good, and beautiful and to become the women God created them to be.

Now beginning our seventh year at Prince of Peace, we invite girls in grades 6–12 to come experience Fidelis during our fall try-it-out period.

Orbis Factor (Mass XI) is one of the oldest and most widely sung Gregorian chant ordinaries of the Church. Traditionally sung on Sundays in Ordinary Time, it connects us to nearly a thousand years of Catholic worship.

This Sunday, with the return of our choirs, we will return to singing this beautiful setting at Mass.

Happy birthday, Blessed Mother!

Today, on the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our church honored Our Lady in a special way. And, our children made the celebration even sweeter by leaving birthday cards for Mary at her feet.
