Looking for a worthwhile book to add to your summer reading list? Fr. Christopher Smith recommends these two thought-provoking titles:

📖 The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt
A widely discussed examination of how smartphones, social media, and a screen-based childhood have affected the mental, emotional, and social development of young people.

📖 Abandonment to Divine Providence by Jean-Pierre de Caussade
A spiritual classic that invites readers to trust God more deeply by embracing His will in the ordinary circumstances of daily life. Through simplicity, surrender, and confidence in God's providence, the book offers timeless wisdom for growing in holiness.

Whether you're looking to better understand the challenges facing modern families or deepen your spiritual life, these books offer rich material for reflection during the summer months. Both are available on Amazon!

This month's Via Fidelis activity is simple: get a Catechism and look up a topic that's been on your mind. But where do you even begin?

The Lectionary and Catechetical Guide is a free downloadable resource that takes away the guesswork. For every Sunday of the liturgical year, it shows you exactly which sections of the Catechism connect to the readings you're hearing at Mass — along with reflection questions perfect for personal study or group discussion.

It's a bridge between the pew and the page. Whether you're a lifelong Catholic, newly curious, or preparing for the sacraments through OCIA, this guide makes the Catechism feel a lot less like a textbook and a lot more like a conversation.

🔗 Download it free at the link below.

The Institute on the Catechism is proud to announce the release of A Journey through the Catechism by our Executive Director, Fr. Daniel Mahan.

Peace in Progress Update: Thanks to your generosity, parishioners have committed $1.778 million toward our $2.4 million goal. With only $622,100 remaining, we are now 74% funded and moving steadily toward making this vision a reality. Thank you for investing in the future of Prince of Peace.

The campaign's success now depends less on a few large gifts and more on broad parish participation. Every household that joins the campaign demonstrates its commitment to the future of Prince of Peace and helps move us closer to breaking ground.

Peace in Progress Building for Generations Prince of Peace is blessed with a thriving parish and school community—one that continues to grow in faith, families, and vocations.
