Would you be willing to support St. James?
We are a small church with a big heart for the community of Taylor. We provide community game nights; a community garden and play area for children; food, housing and shelter for unhoused people. We also support community programs at the Black Sparrow - 1st Tuesday Story Telling and 2nd Wednesday Sunshine Club. We provide space for Narcotics Anonymous meetings, Pathways Program for pregnant mothers and families and the Pathways HUB store, a Centering prayer group, and local plays and performances. Through our strategic mission grant program, we support local artists and creative activities. There are no prerequisites for participating in our community life - we love it when people visit us on Sunday but all of our community life is open to everyone regardless of spiritual orientation or interest.

St. James' has no paid staff. We spend about $50,000 annually to maintain the building, including utilities, insurance and repairs. If you would like to support what we do, you can make donations through our Zeffy site.

We believe we are each treasured beloveds of God.Our mission is to welcome the stranger and the outcast, help our neighbors, and foster a community of love for anyone who wants to join us.How you can help power our mission:We are a small community without paid staff. Your support helps us to pay the...

SAVE THE DATE: Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North
Monday, April 27, 6-9pm. Free event with dinner and childcare provided. Registration to follow.

St. James will host a screening of “Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North.” This film recounts one New England family’s involvement in the slave trade in the 18th and 19th centuries, where Northern businesses and communities condoned and benefited from slave trading. Their story illustrates how racism operates in ways people do not consciously recognize.

The event will include dinner and a facilitated discussion of the film by Dain and Constance Perry, members of the New England family.

This event is sponsored by the Episcopal Health Foundation (EHF), being grounded in Christian beliefs that call for equity in its mission to promote health and well-being among the 15 million Texans in 80 counties.
