We had such a special time worshiping together today. I love how our church family surrounds each other with the love of Christ, walking alongside each other and sharing each other's burdens—Romans 12:15 tells us to "Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn" and Tatum Methodist Church lives out this verse beautifully—truly what God meant His church to be!
Today's sermon focused on using our own life experiences (our t-shirts) to minister to others who are walking a similar path, so that we may comfort them with the same comfort we have received from God (2 Cor 1:3-4) and how God can use those tribulations in our lives to draw us closer to Him.
Benediction:
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word. (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17)
Go forth into the world as confident children of God, strong in His endless love for you. Respond to that love with grateful hearts, by bringing the hope and comfort of God to those in need and sharing with them the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
When the Holy Spirit leads you, be courageous in sharing the hard things of your own lives so that you may comfort those walking a similar path with the same comfort you yourself received from God.
Know that these afflictions are momentary when seen through the lens of eternity, and glory beyond comparison awaits us. Keep strong in the certain hope we have in Jesus: our joyful and confident expectation of eternal salvation.
And now may the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
Amen
