Summer can put extra strain on family budgets, but help is available.

Eligible Alabama families can receive $120 per school-aged child to help purchase groceries while school is out.

Many families will be automatically enrolled, while others may need to complete an application. - Be sure to call before you apply!

🛒 Helps stretch your grocery budget during summer break
👧👦 $120 per eligible child

📅 Application deadline: August 15, 2026
If your family receives SNAP, TANF, certain Medicaid benefits, or has children in foster care, you may qualify.

🗣️ If You Have Signed Up to Volunteer at our Upcoming Convention, PLEASE READ:

Dear Congress Volunteer:

I first of all want to thank you for pledging your time and effort to hosting our great Convention. The Congress will begin on June 29th and go through July 2nd. A lot of planning has gone into hosting this meeting.
It will be necessary for us to meet before the Congress begins. I am asking each volunteer to purchase a Tee shirt that will identify you as a Congress worker. The shirts will be $15; an additional dollar will be added for Extra Large sizes. I will need your size as soon as possible. We also have courtesy bags for the Conventioneers. These bags will need to be packed and passed out at registration.
We will also need to know who will be working the morning and evening shifts. Each shift will be 4 hours. I am asking for a meeting on Saturday, June 27th at 12 noon at the Antioch MissionaryBaptist Church of Pratt City so we can pack the bags. Then we will need to meet on Sunday, June 28th at the Sheraton Civic Center in the lobby for a walk through of the facility.
Once again thank you for volunteering. Pray for the meeting and I hope to see you on June 29th at Antioch.

Today the FMBCEB Scholarship Committee celebrated our 3 High School Graduates, Mya Lovejoy, Aqua Evans and Mariah Hayes! This is the first time we’ve had all graduates from the same family! These young people are all members of the Alexander Family Tree which means that our Pastor, Robert Alexander Jr, is the Grandfather of 1, and the Great Uncle of 2! THANK YOU FMBCEB for loving on our youth and blessing them with items to start their freshman year of college off right! Mya Lovejoy will be attending University of North Alabama, Aqua Evans will be attending Alabama A&M, and Mariah Hayes will be attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB)! Please keep these young adults in prayer as they matriculate to college. We will announce our Scholarship Recipients during Youth Month in July.

Home Going service will be Friday, June 19th, 1:00 pm at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home in Pleasant Grove, Located at 1498 5th Avenue, Pleasant Grove, Alabama, 35127. Please continue to keep this family in prayer!
