"Roots and Wings"
Presented By: Pastor Patti Hanks

We sing it every week, “Roots hold me close, wings set me free, Spirit of Life, come to me, come to me.” What do we mean when we sing it? What did Carolyn McDade mean when she wrote it? What does it mean to you?
June 14th will be good church. First our Sunday service. Then a “retro” potluck. Then a concert with Peter Grace and “Pineapple Heaven” to fundraise for more shingles for Mt. Moriah’s roof.

See you there! Pastor Patti

After Sunday Service
230 Grand Boulevard, Tarpon Springs

Concert Begins at 12:30 in the Forum Room

The concert will raise funds for Mt. Moriah AME’s new roof, which was mostly destroyed in the 2024 hurricanes.

This hinders their outreach programs of feeding and clothing those in need.

There is a long, shared history between our two churches. Our church was started in 1885, theirs in 1896.
Both churches faced the challenges of sinkholes.
Both held services at the Tarpon Springs Recreation Center during that time.

They are our dear friends and neighbors.

Suggested donation: $12 per person (cost of two shingles) - more if you can!
Help with the potluck: Bring a favorite “old-school retro” potluck favorite and join the fun!

Ways to Give?
Cash, Check or Credit Card on Concert Day

"Liberation, Peace, and Team Building"
Presented By: Marlowe Jones

In a time of growing division, uncertainty, and social change across America, this talk will explore how we build stronger, more compassionate communities rooted in liberation, peace, and collective action.

Drawing from history, faith, civic engagement, and real-life organizing experiences, Marlowe Jones will focus on healing divisions, strengthening relationships, empowering everyday people, and developing the teamwork needed to face today’s challenges together.

This is an opportunity for people from all backgrounds to reflect, learn, and build meaningful connections grounded in dignity, justice, and hope
