Most marriages begin like a duet. Two people living in harmony. However, somewhere along the way that harmony begins to get out of tune. If not addressed the beautiful melody of marriage can deteriorate into major conflict. Marriage is not always a “happy ever after” experience. Most all marriages have moments of conflict. It is important to identify the source of conflict before it can be effectively resolved. This Sunday we will take a look at a Biblical example of what may have been a private bedroom conversation that escalated to an all-out deadlock in the marriage and learn how we can identify and resolve those types of confrontations in our marriages.

In order for our families to function at the highest level of harmony there must be, among other attributes, some type of organization and structure. Otherwise, there will be chaos and confusion. For that reason, productive and successful employers provide a job description for their employees to avoid chaos and confusion in the company. The Bible teaches that everything should be done decently and in order 1Cor.14:40. That admonition also applies to the way we function in our home. God is a God of structure and order. Join us Sunday as Pastor Gary shares Biblical insights into the job descriptions for husbands and wives that will contribute to happiness and harmony to your home.

I just want to say thank you to everyone who came out last night for our prayer service and Bible study. We spent time looking back at *The Prayer of Jabez*—a book that became very popular in the early 2000s and was often called “one of the most dangerous prayers you can pray.”

But as we discovered together last night, it’s not just a dangerous prayer—it’s a powerful prayer when prayed in obedience and surrender to God. And Scripture tells us that God granted the prayer of Jabez.

I pray last night was a blessing and encouragement to you like it was to me. I’m excited and expectant to see what God is going to do in the days and months ahead at First Baptist Tanner.
