For nearly thirty years, the Carpenter from Nazareth used His hands to shape wood into things that would endure. He understood the grain of timber, the weight of His tools, and the patient process required to create something lasting. Then came Calvary. The irony is difficult to miss.
The Carpenter climbed a hill outside Jerusalem, bearing on His shoulders the very materials of His earthly trade. But this time He wasn't heading to a workshop, He was heading to a cross to finish His greatest work.
What He built on top of that hill wasn't a piece of furniture, a roof, or a doorway. He built a bridge. A bridge between a holy God and sinful humanity.
When He cried out, “It is finished,” it was the triumphant shout of a Master Builder, declaring the completion of His final masterpiece on earth. The work was done. The bridge was built. And unlike every earthly thing that eventually rots away, the salvation He built on Calvary will never fade and never pass away.
