From Survival To Abundance - - Renewing Our Minds in Christ - Part 2

Our Responsive Reading today came out of Joshua 1:1-9. I want to call our attention to Joshua 1:2 - God commands Joshua, saying, "Arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them"

A couple of Sundays ago we began discussing how God must change our mindset before He changes our circumstances. Today, as we continue this message, we find ourselves exactly where Joshua and the children of Israel found themselves—standing at the edge of new territory. God had already provided the land, but they needed the faith, courage, and mindset to possess what He had given them.

YOU CAN LEAVE EGYPT PHYSICALLY AND STILL CARRY EGYPT MENTALLY

The children of Israel left Egypt physically in one night, but it took forty years trying to get Egypt out of their minds.

Every little challenge caused panic. Every little obstacle caused complaining. Every little delay caused fear. Many people would rather stay in familiar dysfunction than walk into unfamiliar purpose. Some people sabotage increase because struggle has become emotionally comfortable.

But you cannot enter your Promised Land with wilderness thinking!

The wilderness mindset says:
“We’ll never have enough.”
“We can’t do that.”
“That’s too big.”

But faith says:
“If God brought us here, He will sustain us here.”

Philippians 4:11-13, 19 KJV
“Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me… But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

From Survival To Abundance - Renewing Our Minds In Christ

Church, today I need to speak prophetically, practically, and spiritually about where God is taking us as a ministry and what He is requiring from us mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and financially.

We are standing at the doorway of a new season. Not just a new building. Not just a new worship center. Not just new walls. Not just a new address. But a new mentality. Because whenever God changes your territory, He must also change your thinking.

Many people pray for increase… but are mentally unprepared to manage increase.

Many people pray for overflow… while still thinking like they are stuck in drought.

Many people pray for abundance… while still operating with a survival mentality.

And one of the greatest limitations in life is not external limitation — it is internal limitation.

Because if your mind never changes, your life will eventually return to what your mind is comfortable sustaining.

That is why the enemy attacks your thinking so aggressively.

Because Satan understands: if he can control your thinking, he can eventually control your future.

But today God wants to break survival thinking, scarcity thinking, fear-based thinking, limitation thinking, wilderness thinking, and poverty mentality.

Not so we can become arrogant.
Not so we can worship money.
Not so we can become materialistic.

But so we can become effective stewards of Kingdom assignment.

Many of us have carried a mindset of lack and survival for too long. Bills barely paid. Opportunities that feel out of reach. The fear that there’s never enough. This is the lower-class or blue-collar survival mindset in its raw form: protect what little you have, avoid risks, focus on getting by day to day.
But God calls us higher. Today, we explore the differences between mindsets of scarcity and abundance, drawing from everyday life and the timeless wisdom of Scripture. We’ll look at how Jesus and the Bible transform our thinking from survival to stewardship, from lack to plenty. The transition isn’t about pretending hardship doesn’t exist—it’s about trusting the God who multiplies what we place in His hands.

Lord, show me the next step to take, just one step, not the whole journey mapped out, not ten steps ahead, just what I need to do right now, today.

I'm paralyzed because I can't see the whole path, overwhelmed because I don't know how this will all turn out, stuck because I'm waiting for clarity that isn't coming.

Teach me that You reveal the path one step at a time, that I don't need to see step five to take step one, that asking for the next step is exactly the right prayer.

One step is all I can take anyway, one decision, one choice, one movement forward, and You promise to give me enough light for that, enough guidance for what's immediately in front of me.

Help me stop wanting to see the entire staircase before I'll move and start trusting that when I take this step, You'll show me the next one.

Remind me that this is how You've always led Your people, step by step, not revealing everything at once but guiding faithfully as they walked forward in trust.

Give me clarity for the next step, wisdom to discern it, courage to take it when You show me, even if I still don't know what comes after.

Let me see clearly today, Lord, show me the next step to take, and give me faith to take it.

Church, last week we spoke about expanding our territory. We preached from the place of vision. We preached from the place of faith. We preached from the place of expectation. But now God has done something powerful. He has not only given us a vision, He has given us a place. We are no longer just praying for expansion. We are preparing to walk into it. Victory Baptist Church is moving into a new worship center. I need somebody to understand this morning that this is more than a building move. This is a spiritual transition. This is not just a change of address. This is a change of season. This is not merely relocation. This is manifestation. The children of Israel wandered in the wilderness for years waiting on what God had already promised them. And I came to tell somebody this morning:

There comes a moment when God says: “You’ve circled this mountain long enough.
Now move forward.
