You can know Scripture and still miss Jesus.

The religious leaders knew the words. They knew the Law. They knew the stories. Yet when the Word Himself stood right in front of them, they couldn’t recognize Him.

Jesus said, “His word does not dwell in you, for you do not believe the one he sent.” — John 5:38

Knowing what the Bible says isn’t the same as allowing His Word to dwell in you. From Genesis to Revelation, it all points to Jesus.

Don’t get so familiar with the Scriptures that you miss the Savior they reveal.

Jesus didn’t just make claims—His works testified.

In John 5:36, Jesus points to His miracles as evidence that the Father sent Him. Healing the sick, commanding nature, casting out demons, and raising the dead weren’t random acts. They revealed His power, purpose, and identity.

Just as Psalm 19 shows us that creation declares the glory of God, His works speak too.

Everything God does speaks.

The question is: Are we paying attention to what His works are saying?

There is a saying that the minute that you're born, you begin to die. This is a godless saying. The truth of the matter is the minute that you're born, the closer you get to eternity. Will you spend it with God or without Him?

Meet Dan. 👋🏾

Jesus has been teaching him that getting our theology right matters, but relationship with Him matters just as much, if not more.

“And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me…’” — Matthew 7:23

You can know Scripture, understand theology, serve in ministry, and even do things in Jesus’ name, yet Jesus makes it clear that the foundation is knowing Him and being known by Him.

Theology should never become a substitute for relationship. The more we learn about Jesus, the deeper it should lead us into actually walking with Him, loving Him, obeying Him, and becoming like Him.

What has Jesus been teaching you lately?

As we celebrate 17 years of God’s faithfulness at D-WAY, we’re celebrating a church that is continuing to know Jesus, walk with Jesus, and be formed by Jesus.

Jesus has been teaching her to be bold in the faith and lead people to Him.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” — Matthew 28:19

Following Jesus isn’t just about growing in our own faith. It’s about inviting others to know Him too. As Christ transforms us, He gives us the courage to share the hope we’ve found and faithfully point others to Him.

Jesus has been teaching her what it means to surrender.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” — Proverbs 3:5–6

Surrender isn’t about giving up. It’s about placing every part of our lives into the hands of the One who knows us best. The more we trust Jesus, the more we discover that His way is always better than our own.

Jesus has been teaching him that he’s more capable than he once believed.

“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us…” — Ephesians 3:20

Sometimes the biggest obstacle isn’t our ability. It’s our perspective. As we walk with Jesus, He grows us beyond the limits we’ve placed on ourselves and reminds us that His power is at work in those who trust Him.
