A Message from Us to You,

Calvary Community Church was started by Dr. Hank Lindstrom. During the years of his ministry, Dr. Lindstrom used Calvary as a vessel for the gospel of Jesus Christ. Calvary hosted the Bibleline radio show, which was a call-in show that featured Dr. Lindstrom taking questions live on air. It was a unique show because of the fact that this type of show was hardly ever done. It reached thousands and thousands of people over the time it was on air. People all around the country understood that Jesus died for their sins and that salvation was simply believing on Christ. They understood that salvation was a free gift and not based on any works they could ever do. This changed people’s lives! Dr. Lindstrom went home to be with Lord in October of 2008. Dr. Ralph “Yankee” Arnold became the Pastor in 2009. He taught the Bible clearly with the same emphasis on salvation by grace and not by works. Thousands more have come to faith in Christ because of the little church with the big bark sticking to the preaching of the gospel clearly and often. Dr. Arnold started Florida Bible College of Tampa in August of 2013. He also continued Bibleline on WTBN Faith Talk AM in Tampa and KLTT in Colorado. He resigned from the pastorate in December of 2020 to begin a new ministry. Now, Pastor Jesse, a graduate in the inaugural class at Florida Bible College of Tampa in 2017, aims to continue the reach at Calvary. He and his wife, grew up at Calvary. They have committed their lives in service to the Lord and have a desire to strengthen the community outreach of Calvary. Our church offers great programs for kids and adults. We are partners with Florida Bible College of Tampa and can help you get registered for Bible classes in person or online. We care about teaching people what the Bible says and how to spiritually grow throughout your life. The clear and consistent teaching of the Bible is what makes Calvary unique from other churches. Our congregation is warm and friendly. We like those good ole hymns and sing them often! And we believe you will find a home here like no other church, because Calvary cares about your soul. Ask yourself this question. Do you know, without any doubts, that you are going to Heaven when you die? You might say, “I hope so!” Or maybe you would reply, “Well, I’m not sure.” Friend, the Bible says you can know that you are going to Heaven. You can know it! In fact, it’s the easiest assurance you can ever have in this world! You can check out our YouTube video which clearly explains how you can know you are going to Heaven. https://youtu.be/t_6L7E_mfIw

We hope you can come visit with us soon!

We had the joy of witnessing 9 baptisms at the lake the other weekend, and we are so thankful for each person who took this special step of obedience and publicly declared their faith in Jesus.

There is nothing more beautiful than seeing lives impacted by the grace of God. We celebrate with each person who was baptized and pray that they continue to grow in their relationship with Christ!

“…even so we also should walk in newness of life.” — Romans 6:4

What a joy to celebrate what God is doing! 🙏

Dear Friend of Calvary,

I am writing to give you an update on the damage from last week's power surge, as well as a report on an unexpected plumbing issue.

Regarding the power surge...

Our ministry volunteers have finished reviewing all of our equipment and have discovered roughly $2,300 worth of damage. While our surge protectors did their job, damage from lightning strikes are unfortunately unavoidable.

Regarding the unexpected plumbing issue...

After experiencing issues with the toilets in the front building, it was discovered that a pipe leading from the building to the septic system had failed due to corrosion and tree roots. This required an emergency repair totaling $3,982.

Summary of Unexpected Expenses...

Equipment Replacement: $2,300
Emergency Plumbing Repair: $3,982
Total Financial Impact: $6,282

Moving Forward...

We are currently in the process of replacing the damaged electronics, and the plumbing repairs were successfully completed yesterday (7/7/26).

If you would like to donate toward these unexpected costs, you may make an online donation, send a check, or make a contribution in person.

God has always been faithful to supply our needs. We trusted Him then, and we trust Him now. Thank you so much for your continued faithfulness in supporting Calvary, both through your regular giving and during unexpected times like these!

In Service to Jesus,

Jesse Martinez
Pastor | Calvary Community Church of Tampa

We have an update regarding the Celebration of Life for our brother Tom Stokes.

Tom Stokes' Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday July 11th at 11 AM at Calvary Community Church of Tampa.

The service will be live streamed on our website and the Bibleline YouTube channel.

Refreshments will be provided in the back building after the service.

We kindly ask that you attend in person or via livestream. Tom was a pillar of prayer in our church. He is already greatly missed. However, we take comfort and pure joy in the knowledge that he is with Jesus Christ.

As a reminder, here is a comforting passage of Scripture about those who have passed away in Jesus Christ.

“But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.”

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

I hope to see you soon!

In Service to Him,

Jesse Martinez

⚠️NOTICE⚠️

Earlier today, a lightning strike took out a transformer on the church property. Unfortunately, the power has not been restored.

In light of this, we have decided to cancel tonights' midweek service.

We will update you once power is restored.

In the meantime, please pray that our team of volunteers can properly review our equipment once power is restored on the property!

Thank you for your prayers!

Jesse Martinez

We’ve just been informed that prayer warrior Tom Stokes has passed away. Tom was a faithful member of Calvary Community Church since 1972. He understood that Jesus died, was buried, and rose again the third day for the full payment of all his sins. He is with Jesus now, and will be for all eternity.

Tom was blind all his life and dealt with frequent headaches. Yet, he called people every day and prayed for them, memorizing many phone numbers for the sole purpose of lifting up others. He also shared the gospel regularly.

Tom is not blind anymore. He isn’t dealing with headaches any longer. The first thing he saw upon his passing was the face of the One we all long to see, Jesus Christ.

Today’s news of Tom’s passing is shocking, but the sting does not last long. We have an unspeakable joy and comfort in the gospel message, which offers eternal life to all who believe in Jesus. Remember what the Bible tells us:

“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:55-57)

We will keep you posted on any funeral arrangements. Thank you.

- Pastor Jesse
