Meet Presiding Bishop Yehiel Curry for conversation with Q&A on Tuesday, October 6, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. In preparation for the conference, you may submit a question for Bishop Curry; due to time limits, not all questions may be addressed.

Bishop Curry is the keynote speaker for the 2026 Conference on Ministry for Rostered Ministers. Sacred Ground Coffee Hour is free, and those Rostered Leaders wishing to attend the Conference must register separately.

In August, a group of 9 women from our Synod travelled to visit our companion synod, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Guyana. This accompaniment trip was scheduled to coincide with their biannual women's conference. Our group got to explore and learn about Guyana, visit a few of the congregations of the ELCG, and spend time with the pastors and lay leaders of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Guyana. It was a blessed expereince - enjoy these pictures!

Pastor Rob Rose, Assistant to the Bishop, got to celebrate Dr. Sheri Kling’s conclusion of ministry at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bradenton. She has done an amazing job and the congregation showed up in force with an amazing southern meal. God bless you Sheri on a job well done!!

Great news for the Florida-Bahamas Synod family!
At their congregational meeting, Lord of the Seas Lutheran Church in Big Pine Key voted unanimously to call Rev. Samantha Johnson as their new pastor.
Representing the Bishop’s Office at the meeting was Pr. Carlos Ham, Director for Evangelical Mission (DEM-South) and Assistant to the Bishop, who also preached and presided over Communion.
Please join us in celebrating this exciting new chapter and keeping Pastor Johnson and the Lord of the Seas community in your prayers as they begin their ministry together! ⛪✨

A group of 9 women from our Synod are with our companion synod, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Guyana. They have spent the last 2 days learning more about the country and the Church, and today began with worship! This evening our group will be joining the ELGS for a 3 day women’s conference, where members of our synod will share in participating, preaching, leading a workshop and more!

Please pray for the Conference and for our sisters in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Guyana! We will share more with you when the trip is complete!

It was a joy to be with the people at Advent this weekend. Psalm 67 includes a benediction that the whole world may stand in awe of God. When has someone’s actions of generosity, kindness, gentleness, patience, or love left you in awe? This is God’s grace at work in your life. Hearing your story may inspire awe in someone else.
