From this week's sermon:

"God is calling each and every one of us to be an active participant in bringing the Kindom of God to this broken world. And we need that more than ever."

Metropolitan Community Churches fully supports Transgender Education Network Texas (TENT), as it condemns fraudulent and misleading mailings and texts, sent out in its name.

A statement from TENT: These text messages and mailers were not authored, authorized, approved, or distributed by TENT and are not affiliated with our organization. The texts do not represent the official position or communications of the organization. We will continue to monitor the situation and remain committed to our organizational values of unequivocal support for trans Texans, their families, and their loved ones. Trans Texans belong here. This is our home and we’re not going anywhere.

Elder Velma Garcia, who resides in Texas says: "As someone who believes deeply in justice, compassion, and truth, I support TENT and the important work they do for transgender Texans. The apparent misuse of their name is deeply concerning. We must reject efforts that sow confusion and division, and instead stand with those who are committed to supporting vulnerable communities with honesty, respect, and care."

Metropolitan Community Churches fully supports our trans siblings in Texas, in the USA and around the world.
