It's Friday!

Whoever enters through the gate becomes the shepherd of the flock, welcomed by the gatekeeper and recognized by the sheep as they listen for the familiar call that guides them out. Reflecting on last night's Praise & Worship, themed "Idleness," I found myself considering the true nature of rest after a demanding week.

As we head into the weekend, let's take a moment to explore what idleness really means. Is it simply a negative state, or does it offer an opportunity to recharge and renew our focus? While idleness can lead us away from our purpose, intentional stillness, as suggested by the words “Be still, and know that I am God,” holds a sacred quality. The key difference lies in our intention: stillness is purposeful and anchored in spiritual connection, whereas idleness often drifts aimlessly or avoids responsibility.

Let’s approach our rest thoughtfully, using it as a moment to reconnect and find clarity, rather than simply letting time slip away.
