In August 2003, the Nance family moved from West Virginia to Tampa, Florida to start a church in South Tampa under the ministry of Westgate Baptist Church. With the blessing and help of Westgate and Pastor Bruce Turner, Southside Baptist Church was organized on November 23, 2003. On

that special day, 19 baptized believers organized the Southside Baptist Church with Kerry Nance as their pastor. The church is an Independent Baptist church located in South Tampa, and is just off of Dale Mabry on W. Our church is easily accessible from anywhere in the Tampa Bay area. At the Southside Baptist Church, though we have one message-the message of the Lord Jesus Christ, and one ministry-the ministry He has given us to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature, our desire is to reach Tampa as well as the world with the gospel.

Praising the Lord for a wonderful day in His house! It was a joy to have Hyles-Anderson College with us, making Father’s Day even more special. We are thankful for each father who was present today and praise the Lord for their influence and faithfulness. Today was our final day of Vacation Bible School (more on that coming soon)!

Following our afternoon service, we took time to thank the Lord for answering our prayers by providing a bus for the ministry. We prayed that God would place His hand of blessing upon it and use it for His glory.

Who knows how many children will be brought to church, VBS, and camp because of this bus, or how many opportunities it will provide to reach the lost with the Gospel?

Thank you to everyone who gave and prayed to make this possible. We are excited to see what God will do through this vehicle in the days ahead!

Join us this Wednesday through Sunday for our exciting VBS, “Red, White, and True!” As our nation approaches its 250th birthday, we’ll be taking a special look at the Truth that has made America great and the Truth found in God’s Word.

This is a week your children won’t want to miss!
