What happens when an oncologist, a cardiologist and a urologist walk into a shul? You get an excellent Hearing Men’s Voices session on men’s health!14 people joined us to learn about issues pertinent to prevention of cancer, heart disease, and promoting healthy living as we get older.

Join Brotherhood on May 17th for the Kol Ami year end picnic. If you’re able to help out and set up, cook hot dogs and hamburgers, and/or assist with cleanup, please reach out and let us know. We also have our end of year Brotherhood breakfast on May 31.

Mazel Tov Mark at being installed as 2026 Brotherhood Man of The Year (MOTY) at Congregation Kol Ami Tampa on Sunday April 12, 2026. The event featured speakers, state of the Brotherhood by President, and a heart felt acceptance speech by Mark. The event is recorded on the Live Stream. Thank you for all the contributions, attendees, volunteers, office staff and vendors (Nosh Catering, Roger Harrison Jazz, Anna Modig Graphics, Bobs Busy Bee printing), making this a success, on many levels. 2026 Brotherhood Poker Tournament proved once again that when the Brotherhood of Kol Ami Congregation Kol Ami Tampa gathers, the result is always a winning hand; great food, friendly competition, and strong community spirit. ♥️♠️♦️♣️

The Texas Hold’em tournament featured multiple tables and a competitive field of players. As the night progressed, the stakes rose and the field narrowed until the final table determined the top finishers.

Congratulations to the Top Three Wiseguys (Alan, Ron & Avi) who earned well-deserved prizes. Their skill, and some luck of the draw, earned them bragging rights and the honor of finishing among the evening’s “top bosses.”

Special thanks to all volunteers lead by Alan Borden and Gerald Woods and donors who helped organize the tournament, collect prizes, set up the room, manage the tables, and coordinate food (steak sliders prepared by Glenn Yancey) and refreshments. Their hard work ensured that the evening ran smoothly and that everyone could simply enjoy the game.

Our next event is Hike & Bike: New Tampa Nature Park followed by Brothehood Shabbat and 2026 Man of The Year (MOTY) award.

Brotherhood members organized and packed the Brotherhood 2026 - Jewish Camp Scholarship fund |Yellow Candle Assembly Yellow Candles to mail out to our over 300 plus member families to commemorate Yom HaShoah and ensure we all light candles for the 6 million Jews that needlessly perished in the Holocaust. Kol HaKavod to all our members who showed up to assist in this mitzvah. Tonight we learned about Moses and discussed his abilities and attitudes toward his children in a discussion called “Moses: Father of the Year?” in a “Torah on Tap” session at Beef O’Brady’s, led capably by Rabbi Marc Blatt. Good turnout and a great topic. Thanks, Rabbi!

Brotherhood of Kol Ami of Congregation Kol Ami Tampa just brought the heat to the FJMC Florida Region in Palm Coast at Temple Beth Shalom’s
Shabbaton retreat! 🔥 Alan Borden, Ronald Gray , Wynn Schwartzman, and Jon Zimmer (the prez, obvi) represented , along with FJMC's Rabbi Noam Raucher (all the way from Cali!) and Gary Katz (that's Exec VP/President Elect status, btw). 🤘 Between the kosher eats, epic davening, and a group chat on Joseph and Potiphar’s wife drama, these guys leveled up their Jewish leadership game. And guess what? The Brotherhood helped offset cost😎. We’re replenishing the leadership fund with the 2026 Brotherhood Hold’em Poker Tournament, building Jewish leaders for tomorrow.
