Brotherhood of Kol Ami

Brotherhood of Kol Ami The Brotherhood is an arm of Congregation Kol Ami that involves the growth of Jewish men using education, prayer/davening, socializing, and service.

The mission of the Brotherhood of Kol Ami is to provide service, support and spirit to Congregation Kol Ami. With a variety of programs throughout the year you have the opportunity to be with men in settings which encourage you to truly connect and bond with each other and to meet the vast range of needs of the men of Kol Ami. Whether it is a 2nd Sunday brunch and lecture with a compelling speaker

, doing mitzvahs for others, serving the synagogue community or purely social occasions, the Brotherhood of Kol Ami will surely be a way for you to find fulfillment at Kol Ami. Brotherhood is a member of the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs. Brotherhood is known for its fun activities: Our annual Ci**rs and Scotch Night, Craft Beer Tasting Night, Firearm Safety Night, Steaks in the Sukkah, Super Bowl party, various happy hours and game watching parties for our local sports teams. As fun as it is having those events, Brotherhood is much more. We host events such as Hearing Men's Voices, a discussion group about various issues that affect men. Issues such as dealing w/ grief and loss, men's health issues, our roles as Jewish men and parents, and more. We host guest speakers dealing with various topics such as the author of a book about Jewish Prisoners of War (POW) guards, Israel advocacy, and other topical issues. Our Chai Guys group, led by Darren Kasanetz, helps beautify and clean the shul with landscaping, leaf raking, pressure washing, and more. Most importantly, Brotherhood is YOU. We want input from our members and prospective members. We are hear to support and encourage all our members and are here for them in any special time of need. I look forward to leading Brotherhood for the next two years and would love to grow our organization. Do not hesitate to reach out. B'Shalom,

Jon Zimmer
President of Brotherhood of Kol Ami

What an incredible way to kick off the 2026–27 Kol Ami Brotherhood year! 2026/27 Brotherhood kicks off and speaker.

Nearly 120 people from Kol Ami and throughout the Tampa Bay Jewish community joined us for brunch and a fascinating and engaging presentation from. Jonathan gave us plenty to think about and generated exactly the kind of thoughtful conversation and discussion we hoped for. Thank you, Jonathan, for spending the morning with our community.

A huge Todah Rabah to our major sponsors, the Freedland Family, the Gould Family, and Marc & Sheryl Tindell, as well as all of our other generous donors and supporters.

Thank you to Rachel Hope Blatt for leading us in prayer and learning, and a special thank you to our Brotherhood Board and volunteers who worked behind the scenes on planning, registration, setup, check-in, cleanup, and everything in between.

And, of course, thank you to Max Sherard Nosh Caterers for a fantastic brunch. Judging by the plates, nobody left hungry!

Most importantly, thank you to the nearly 120 people who showed up. Seeing a room filled with members, friends, guests, and people from across our community was a wonderful reminder of why Brotherhood exists: to bring people together to celebrate our Jewishness, learn from one another, build friendships, support Israel and our community, and put our values into action.

This was just the beginning. We have a great year of learning, mitzvot, social events, and community ahead of us.

Am Yisrael Chai! 🇮🇱

🌴🇯🇲 Txoko Goes Jamaican! 🇯🇲🌴

What a fantastic evening of great food, friendship, and Congregation Kol Ami Tampa Brotherhood at our latest Txoko! Our talented chefs brought the flavors of Jamaica to Kol Ami with an incredible meal, plenty of laughs, and wonderful fellowship.

A special thank you to everyone who cooked, planned, and volunteered to make the evening such a success. Especially Glenn Yancey! We were also delighted to welcome guests from the Foundation for Jewish Men’s Clubs, who experienced firsthand the hospitality and teamwork that make our Brotherhood so special. They travelled from Orlando and Clearwater.

Stay tuned for our next culinary adventure; Romania is coming before the High Holidays!

Our next event is Brotherhood Guns & Moses movie afternoon only July 26th. RSVP please!
