Tonight is prayer at CTW. For some strange spiritual reason, prayer has become a burden to hard to carry for 21st Century Christians. Yet, prayer is one of the most powerful privileges that Christians possess. We are to resolve to pray. The term “resolve to pray” means to make a firm, intentional decision or commitment to pray—regardless of distractions, emotions, or circumstances. It implies determination, not just desire. Here is a Biblical example of a believer in Yahweh who resolved to pray, regardless of the circumstances surrounding him: In Daniel 6:10, after a law was passed outlawing prayer to anyone but the king, the Bible says: "When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house... and got down on his knees three times a day and prayed..." That’s resolve. Even under threat of death, Daniel made up his mind to keep praying. Again, tonight is prayer. Have you resolved in your soul that you can do nothing without praying, and that praying with the ambassadors of our embassy (CTW), your prayers are most powerful? Vertical Expression – 7 pm tonight. NOW HIRING - High School Learning Center Supervisor.

Responsibilities:
Teachers are responsible for supervising a learning center. For example, High School teachers will oversee 30-35 students from grades nine to twelve. The curriculum is Accelerated Christian Education (ACE); students work at their own pace and independently on all major subjects. Learning center supervisors maintain classroom management, work on weekly goals for all students, grade, do break-out groups, and other activities once the main PACE work is completed, and interact with parents throughout the student's enrollment period.

Qualifications:
Must have at least a Bachelor's degree, but a Master's Degree is preferred. The Learning Center Supervisor (teacher) should have a good understanding of the developmental stages of adolescents, and have the ability to communicate well, and have basic knowledge of various learning disorders, i.e., ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia (understanding math concepts), Dysgraphia (organizing thoughts on paper, etc.), and other issues, i.e., social cues, communication, etc. Teachers are not experts in these areas, but should have a basic understanding and knowledge that students will struggle with various issues. Teachers need at least three years of experience, and certifications are a plus.

Missing my Bronx Buddy, Kathy with a “K.” My condolences to Emma, and the family & friends, as we say our “fare wells” to Kathy Coogan, who has departed this world during the weekend. What an amazing woman! My heart is heavy; we grew up in the same neck of the woods, off East Tremont Avenue, in the Bronx (45th Precent area). We met at Health Integrated in Tampa, and worked together for about a decade. We became good friends, and I loved her as a friend dearly. I pray for Emma, as she was very close to her mom. 😢

How often do we hear the claim that our nation is a democracy? Was a democratic form of government the vision of the Founders? As it turns out, the word democracy appears nowhere in the two most fundamental founding documents of our nation—the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Instead of a democracy, the Constitution’s Article IV, Section 4, declares “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government.” Our pledge of allegiance to the flag says not to “the democracy for which it stands,” but to “the republic for which it stands.” Is the song that emerged during the War of 1861 “The Battle Hymn of the Democracy” or “The Battle Hymn of the Republic”?
