Disappointment is a part of life—but what we do with disappointment determines what happens next.

When we place our expectations on people, circumstances, or even ourselves, disappointment can take root. And if disappointment is left unresolved, it can grow into discouragement, disillusionment, depression, and ultimately defeat.

Fear creeps in from diagnoses, news, and even everyday choices. It paralyzes us, making us make decisions from a place of anxiety. In 2020, it became crystal clear how much we live in fear. Don't let it control you.

Elijah experienced God's glory in incredible ways, not always in the dramatic fire, but in a gentle voice. Don't let your expectations of how God should speak blind you. He will always communicate in a way you'll hear, but clinging to past experiences can make you miss Him.

What happens when you’ve seen God move, given everything you have, and still find yourself exhausted, afraid, and discouraged?

In 1 Kings 18–19, we see Elijah go from one of the greatest victories of his life to one of his lowest moments. After calling fire down from heaven, Elijah becomes physically exhausted, emotionally shaken, and spiritually discouraged. Fear took over. Comparison crept in. Isolation set in. But God didn’t shame Elijah for where he was. God met him there.
