Bible Church International We are a multicultural congregation that worships God through Songs of Praise, Teaching, & Preaching

We are a multicultural congregation that worships God through Songs of Praise, Bible Teaching, Preaching, Testimony and Fellowship. We believe that being obedient to the teachings of the Bible, beginning with salvation by grace through faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, brings salvation to the lost, freedom to the captive, and fellowship with God.

Prayer Time Devotion: When Heaven Hears the Prayers of the Saints. Revelation 8:3-5
When most people think about prayer, they may not immediately think about the book of Revelation. Yet Revelation gives us one of the clearest and most powerful pictures of prayer found anywhere in Scripture. Tonight, we are going to look at prayer from Heaven’s perspective—and I believe it will encourage us to pray with greater faith, confidence, and expectation.
Revelation 8:3-5 (NKJV) “Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand.” —
As we gather for prayer, I want us to remember something that is powerful:
Your prayers are not ignored by Heaven. Thay do not just fall to the ground.
Sometimes prayer feels silent. Sometimes we pray and wonder if God hears us. Sometimes we carry burdens for family, health, prodigal children, our nation, the church, or our own spiritual battles—and it can feel like our prayers disappear into the air.
But Revelation gives us a different picture. John was allowed to see into Heaven itself. And what did he see?
He saw the prayers of God’s people rising before the throne of God like incense.
That means every sincere prayer matters to God.
Every whispered prayer. Every tear-filled prayer. Every desperate midnight prayer. Every prayer prayed in faith. Every cry for mercy. Every prayer for revival. Every prayer for salvation. Every prayer for strength.
God hears them.
In Revelation 5:8, the elders in Heaven hold “golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.” Prayer is pictured as precious to God—not worthless, not forgotten, not wasted.
Sometimes we think prayer is the least important thing we do. Heaven says it is one of the greatest things we do.
Prayer moves the heart of God. Prayer invites the power of God. Prayer aligns us with the will of God. Prayer reminds us that our hope is not in man, government, money, or ourselves—but in the Lord.
Notice something else in Revelation 8: The prayers rise before God before judgment falls and before power is released.
Prayer comes first.
The early church understood this. Before Pentecost—they prayed. Before prison doors opened—they prayed. Before revival spread—they prayed. Before boldness came—they prayed.
And if the church today wants revival again, we must become people of prayer again.
Not casual prayer. Not rushed prayer. Not prayer only in emergencies. But faithful, believing, persistent prayer.
Some prayers are answered immediately. Others are stored in Heaven for God’s perfect timing. But no true prayer offered in faith is ever lost.
Maybe tonight you are carrying something heavy. Maybe you have prayed for years for someone to be saved. Maybe you are weary. Maybe you are discouraged.
Do not stop praying...... Heaven is listening.
The enemy wants believers to become prayerless because a prayerless church becomes powerless. But a praying church becomes strong, united, sensitive to the Holy Spirit, and spiritually awake.
That is why Revelation shows us time and again worship, prayer, and the throne of God connected. Prayer is not just a religious routine. Prayer is entering the throne room of God through Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 4:16 says: “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
So, let us come boldly.
Pray for revival. Pray for lost souls. Pray for healing. Pray for our families. Pray for our church. Pray for America. Pray for strength to stand faithful in these last days.
And remember: The prayers of the saints still rise before the throne of God.
Closing Thought
If Heaven treasures the prayers of the saints… then the church should never neglect prayer.
Some of the greatest battles are not won by talent, programs, or strength— but on our knees before God.
Closing Prayer
Lord, teach us to pray faithfully and fervently. Help us not to grow weary in prayer. Remind us tonight that You hear every cry of Your people. Strengthen Your church. Bring revival to our hearts. Save the lost, heal the hurting, and help us stand faithful in these last days. May our prayers rise before Your throne as a sweet incense unto You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Our devotion tonight comes from a book that many people may not immediately think of when speaking about prayer. Yet the book of Revelation gives us one of the most powerful pictures of prayer found anywhere in the Bible. Tonight, we are going to hear Heaven’s perspective on the prayers of God’s people—and I believe it should encourage every one of us to pray with greater faith, confidence, and expectation.
