Are you new to magick? Have you just attended your first Full Moon circle and have no idea what people are saying? Well here is a list of common phrases used at Circles in the Woods CUUPS Tampa’s Full Moons Circles.
Blessed Be (a greeting similar to 'aloha' ) - this is usually used instead of 'hello', or 'goodbye', possibly even to mean 'you are loved'. You'll hear it used often during rituals or circles, and at times much like other religions say, “Amen”.
So Mote it Be - translates to 'So may it be' and means something is 'done' and now in the hands of God/Goddess. This phrase is very commonly used in place of “Amen” because they mean similar things.
Merry Meet - means 'I am happy to meet/see you'. A phrase commonly used to greet those one encounters at pagan gatherings.
May you never Thirst / May you never Hunger - Often used during the Cakes & Ale segment of circles, it is customary to return the blessing verbally, with a slight nod of the head or by lifting the glass (or plate) to honor the person giving you the drink.
Merry Meet, Merry Part, Merry Meet Again - refers to life, death, and reincarnation. Often used as a 'goodbye'. I see you today, I might not see you tomorrow, I look forward to seeing you again in this life or the next.
'How do you enter this Circle?' - A typical blessing and protection ward for our circle.
The response should ALWAYS be - 'In perfect love, and perfect trust.'
If you don’t know the answer, you will be asked - We enter this circle with Perfect Love and Perfect Trust, do you do so willingly?
Your honest response should be, “Yes.”
