*John 1:2 He was in the beginning with God.
Corresponding verses: Genesis 1:1-3, Nehemiah 9:6, Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38-39 (the name Jesus used here due to speaking to a Jewish audience. Salvation found only in Jesus.)

Nehemiah 9:6 You alone are the LORD; You have made heaven, The heaven of heavens, with all their host, The earth and everything on it, The seas and all that is in them, And you preserve them all. The host of heaven worships You.

Elohim used in Genesis 1 is singular in the Hebrew.

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

Bible Study Recap 5-13-26

We continued with our study on is Jesus God? All verses from Legacy Standard Bible.

Our goal is grow spiritually in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

- Hebrews 1:3 who is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power; who, having accomplished cleansing for sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

- Jesus is the exact expression of God the Father. They are one in will and purpose. God's purpose is that none purpose but repent and come to the knowledge of truth. The glory of God was shown in the OT and then fully revealed in Jesus. Full of grace and truth we have beheld His glory. John 1:14. Majesty on high only mentioned here and has significance. He upholds the universe by His word and He can uphold you. Our God is a great God.

Majesty Verses: Psalm 145:1-10, Luke 9:29, v. 34-36, & 2 Peter 1:16-19

Psalm 145:3 Great is Yahweh, and highly to be praised, And His greatness is unsearchable.

V. 5 On the glorious splendor of Your majesty And on the words of Your wondrous deeds, I will muse. (Mediate)

Luke 9:29 Majesty displayed on the mount of Transfiguration. - And it happened that while He was praying, the appearance of His face became different, and His clothing became white and gleaming.

Moses- represented the Law
Elijah- represented the Prophets

Both appeared and Peter wanted to make three booths but now only booth needed which is Jesus. We are to move from Moses and Elijah to the Lord Jesus. See Matthew 5:17 Jesus came to fulfill the Law and the prophets.

V. 43 And they were astonished at the majesty of God.

Jesus rebuked the demon from the young man and the disciples were not able to do so.

Does the majesty of God astonish you? This was a time of rejoicing not rejection. The Lord God wants us to understand Him and His ways. True power demonstrated after prayer.

× proof of the resurrection 2 Peter 1:16-19. Peter declared this revelation after the resurrection and he obeyed the instruction of the Lord.
V. 17 For when He received honor and glory from God the Father, such an utterance as this was was made to Him by the Majestic Glory, "This is My beloved Son with whom I am well-pleased"-

Hear the voice of the Lord Jesus over everything. As His sheep we must learn His voice and obey. John 10:4

The seal of God is His approval and how He sets apart true believers by His Holy Spirit which is sent in Jesus name. Without the Holy Spirit one does not belong to God.

×John 3:33-34, John 6:27, 2 Timothy 2:19

*John 3:33-34 "He who has received His witness has set his seal to this, that God is true. 34 "For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for He gives the Spirit without measure.

×John 6:27 "Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, set His seal.

×2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, "THE LORD KNOWS THOSE WHO ARE HIS," and, "EVERYONE WHO NAMES THE NAME OF THE LORD IS TO DEPART FROM WICKEDNESS."

God's foundation cannot be moved, changed or altered. Only one foundation remains and that foundation is Christ and we all must be careful how we build upon it. The Lord God should be honored, revered and feared because He is the great God and He is the Almighty.

We are sealed by God until the day of redemption!! Hallelujah!!

Lastly there is no comparison to our God. One God that can do everything.

*Psalm 139:17-18 How precious are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! 18 If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with You.

*Psalm 40:4-5 How blessed is the man who has made Yahweh his trust, And has not turned to the proud, nor to those who stray into falsehood. 5 Many, O Yahweh my God, are the wondrous deeds You have done, And Your thoughts toward us; There is none to compare with You. I would declare and speak of them, But they are too numerous to recount.
