NO SERVICES SUNDAY(10-13-24) DUE TO NO POWER AT BUILDING AFTER HURRICANE MILTON:
Brethren,
It is with much deliberation and concern for our members' welfare that we send this to you.
Here is our current status as of 11:00 this morning:
Based on deacon reports, about 60% of us are still without power. Many of our members are still out of town.
Gas is a premium commodity and few of us have been able to find it.
Many of the traffic lights in South Tampa are still inoperable. Some access roads are still flooded. Power lines are still down as of this morning.
There is no power in the church building or annex. That means we cannot transmit a livestream, and if we could, many of us couldn’t watch it since we have no power or online services.
We therefore are instructing all members to remain home tomorrow (10-13-24). The church building remains closed for now. If you are able to assemble with another congregation, do so. Temple Terrace is meeting. Livingston and University are not.
If you remain home, please take some time to share and study the Word tomorrow, whether you are alone in your home, or with family, or with others in your neighborhood who can gather to share the Word with you. Remember, if you have online access, you can listen to any of our sermons or eulogies going back several years.
Pray for the welfare of our members and please take time to thank God for our relative safety and security. We do not want to minimize the misery and loss many of us suffered, but this hurricane could have done so much more damage than it did.
If you are able and willing to participate in the Supper of the Lord, do so.
Tuesday’s ladies class is also cancelled this week.
If the Lord allows, we will resume our assemblies mid-week and next Sunday, and together celebrate the goodness of our God and our Savior Jesus Christ.
