September Devotion: Our Lady of Sorrows

O most holy Virgin, Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ: by the overwhelming grief you experienced when you witnessed the martyrdom, the crucifixion, and the death of your divine Son, look upon me with eyes of compassion, and awaken in my heart a tender commiseration for those sufferings, as well as a sincere detestation of my sins, in order that, being disengaged from all undue affection for the passing joys of this earth, I may sigh after the eternal Jerusalem, and that henceforward all my thoughts and all my actions may be directed towards this one most desirable object. Honor, glory, and love to our divine Lord Jesus, and to the holy and immaculate Mother of God. Amen. --Saint Bonaventure

St. Lawrence Catholic Church celebrated a beautiful volunteer appreciation dinner with their wonderful volunteers! 🙏❤️

It was inspiring to see so many people who generously give their time, talents, and hearts to serve their parish community. So much of what happens at St. Lawrence is made possible because of these faithful men and women who simply said “YES” when God called them to serve.

Thank You, Lord, for every volunteer and for the many ministries that help make such a welcoming and faith-filled in every parish family.

May God continue to bless all who serve, strengthen them in their ministries, and reward their generosity. 🙏✝️❤️

Today, Cubans throughout the world unite in faith to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Charity — Nuestra Señora de la Caridad del Cobre, Patroness of Cuba. 🇨🇺🙏

For generations, La Virgen de la Caridad has held a special place in the hearts of the Cuban people—a beautiful reminder of our faith, our heritage, and our enduring trust in the Blessed Mother’s intercession. 🙏

Today, St. Lawrence Catholic Church will join in this special celebration with a Holy Mass in honor of Our Lady of Charity. May we gather in prayer for our families, for our community, and especially for the people of Cuba, asking Our Blessed Mother to intercede for peace, hope, and freedom. 🙏❤️🇨🇺

Nuestra Señora de la Caridad del Cobre, ruega por nosotros y por Cuba.🙏

Dios te salve, María,
llena eres de gracia;
el Señor es contigo.
