Corinthians 4 :7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
The word for the day is power. Be it influences on all human experiences or as our text declares that God places his power in human bodies to transform humanity where it own nature fails.
There is a limit on man as to his ability to change his soul however , I think that that limit puts man in a position to be transformed from within by the power of Gods Grace.
The power that God has place within man is in fact consistently transforming the inner soul from itself to the form of the likeness of the incorruptible power.
In response to part B of our text in consideration today it states," that the excellency of the power MAY be of God and not of US" ( bold caps are mines for emphasis). Now that being said, there is the spiritual reality that one should seek to be admitted into that spiritual reality in order to be formed into the image of that God given power.
As the letter to the Corinthians states," as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly ". 1 Corinthians 15: 49
Romans 8: 20 rightly declares that "creation has been subject to vanity against its own will yet being subjected in hope." So then God gives the nature to the vessels of clay and God also gives the life which is power in the vessels of clay in which the true character of his nature will become evident as to the form of his power within the vessel.
Remember theses words God defines, God gives identity, God validates and God
