Tallmadge Lutheran Church, Tallmadge, OH GROWING as disciples of Jesus, CARING for one another and SHARING the love of Jesus with others. The time of His coming is not known to man.

God is one divine essence in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Man was created an intelligent and moral being with body and soul, that he was created holy but of his own free choice fell into sin thus separating himself from God. The Bible, the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, in their entirety, are the inspired Word of God. Sin is every transgression of God's laws, and tha

t man is subject to death and eternal damnation by reason of the guilt that attaches sin. Redemption, out of pure mercy, redeemed mankind from sin, and that the divine Redeemer appeared in Jesus of Nazareth, Son of God and Son of Man. Faith for all who penitently accept Jesus as the one and only Savior in sincere faith are declared righteous in the sight of God and made heirs of salvation. Sacrament of Holy Baptism, when administered according to the command of Jesus to infants and adults, is a means of grace by which God offers His grace and the forgiveness of sins. We believe that the sacrament of the Lord's Supper offers us in, with and under bread and wine, the true body and blood of Christ: and that all who receive the sacrament in true faith share in the forgiveness of sins brought about by the sacrifice of Jesus on Calvary's cross. Second coming of Christ: when Jesus will visibly return to the earth on the Last Day to judge the world. Resurrection on the Last Day, believers in Jesus will rise from the dead; their souls will be reunited with their earthly bodies, glorified by Jesus. Judgment will be on the Last Day when Jesus will receive into glory all who died trusting in Him as their Savior and will pronounce eternal doom upon all who, in their lifetime, refused to accept Him as their Savior.

UNSHAKABLE Mission Matthew 28:16-20 & Acts 2:1, 22-36

On this Holy Trinity Sunday — when the church confesses together the mystery of the one God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — we will hear Jesus give the Great Commission: While you are living, MAKE DISCIPLES, baptizing and teaching. Come this Sunday to consider this: If Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth — and the evidence suggests he does — then the mission he has given this church and every one of us individually is actually backed by the greatest authority in the universe. The question isn't whether the mission will succeed. The resurrection settled that question. The question is whether you and I will participate in it; will we actually believe what Jesus said and live accordingly. God is faithful. He will reaching all nations through you and me and through all disciples of Jesus Christ

UNSHAKABLE Spirit John 7:37-39 & Acts 2:1-21

The arrival of the Holy Spirit is a day of celebration. Into a barren and thirsty world, the Holy Spirit gives life! The outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the disciples changed the world as the Good News of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection was proclaimed. Come this Sunday to hear Jesus declare, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him."

UNSHAKABLE in the Fire John 17:1-21 & 1 Peter 4:12-19, 5:6-11

In his first letter, Peter is writing to Christians who have faced suffering and persecution. He exhorts them: "Do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes to test you" and "your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." Peter is not concluding with comfort. He is concluding with honesty — the most bracing pastoral honesty in the New Testament epistles. The fire is real. The lion is real. And the Christian who has received every gift we have traced through these six weeks — the living hope, the burning Word, the Good Shepherd, the prepared room, the indwelling Paraclete — that Christian will face the fire and hear the roar. And the question that has powered this entire series reaches a climax: When the fire comes and I cannot hold on — what is holding me? Come this Sunday to be reminded that Jesus is holding onto you
