A day of service that happens once a year for a community in Akron brings hundreds of volunteers together.

Members of our congregation and youth from United Ministry joined more than 550 volunteers from diverse backgrounds and faith communities, all coming together with one common goal: to serve together!

Yesterday, was a beautiful day of worship, fellowship, and service as we gathered for First Serve’s Annual Day of Service in Akron’s North Hill community. After a meaningful sending service and powerful message, we headed out through our hands and hearts to serve our neighbors in preparing food, organizing, staining a deck and giving bright new life to a preschool mural.

Our serve day is a wonderful reminder that serving is more than the project itself; it's giving hope, building relationships, strengthening our community and making a difference in one unity in both big and small ways.

A huge shout-out to all of our volunteers for your hard work, generous hearts, and willingness to serve! What a blessing to be part of such a powerful expression of faith in action!

📖 Book Study | “I’m Tired of Apologizing for a Church I Don’t Belong To”
Wednesdays @ 12pm in David Bacon Room

We will begin a study of the book, “I’m Tired of Apologizing for a Church I Don’t Belong To.” The author, Lilian Daniel, a dear friend of Dan’s, argues that it's time for Christians to stop apologizing and realize that how we talk about Christian community matters. Copies of the book are available for purchase from the church office for $18.

📖 Bible Study | Christian Scriptures James, Colossians & Hebrews
Wednesdays @ 1pm in David Bacon Room

Our Fall Bible Study will continue our journey through the Christian Scriptures in chronological order, helping us explore how the canon of Scripture developed within the early church.

This fall, we will study James, Colossians, and Hebrews, taking a closer look at these writings and their place within the story of the early Christian community.

A reading list to help you prepare for each class is available at the Welcome Center in the Atrium.

United Ministry Youth—we're rolling up our sleeves and ready serve!

We’re joining First Serve’s Annual Day of Service this coming Sunday, September 13th, and we’re ready to make a difference!

This year, United Ministry will be giving new life to a preschool mural at North High School with a little paint, a lot of teamwork, and plenty of love! ❤️

Come dressed in your painting clothes and join us for a morning filled with worship, service, fellowship, and food as we put our faith into action and serve our neighbors in Akron's North Hill community. Youth in grades 6-12 are welcome to join us!
