WHEN THE CHURCH GETS SHAKEN
What a WORD from Pastor Jon this morning!
In Acts 4, Peter and John were facing pressure, threats, and opposition. But when they were released, they didn’t isolate themselves; they went back to their people and PRAYED.
And they didn’t pray for God to make things easier.
They prayed for MORE BOLDNESS.
Pastor Jon reminded us:
1. When pressure comes, PRAY BIGGER.
They knew exactly what they were up against, but instead of asking God to remove the opposition, they asked Him to give them the boldness to stand in the middle of it.
2. When God fills you, BOLDNESS follows.
Acts 4:31 says that after they prayed, the place where they were gathered was shaken, they were filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the Word of God boldly.
Sometimes we become fascinated with the shaking and miss what God wants to do after the shaking.
God didn’t shake the room just to give them a moment; He shook the room to make them a movement.
3. A shaken church LIVES DIFFERENT.
After the encounter, their hearts, lives, priorities, and relationships changed. They became a people marked by unity, generosity, obedience, and boldness. (Acts 4:32–37)
Yesterday’s filling isn’t enough for today’s assignment. We don’t need one encounter with the Holy Spirit that we spend the rest of our lives talking about; we need to seek Him DAILY.
Sometimes the greatest thing God can do isn’t change the situation around us. Sometimes it’s changing our hearts while we walk through it.
And when life hits and everything in us wants to isolate, remember: WHO YOU GO TO MATTERS.
Church, we weren’t called to live silent, comfortable Christianity.
Biblical boldness doesn’t go looking for a fight, but it doesn’t run from one either.
God didn’t shake the room to give them a story.
He shook them so BOLDNESS could come through.
🔥 You ARE God’s Plan A.
🔥 Standing will cost something.
🔥 Pray bigger.
🔥 Get filled.
🔥 Live differently.
🔥 GO BOLDLY.
