Kathryn has been an important part of our Freedom Kids team for several years! She is caring, funny, and full of energy, and she has been essential to our worship team. We said “goodbye for now” this morning, her last Sunday in kids’ church before heading off to ministry school this month. We’re so proud of you, Kathryn!

Galaxy VBS is TONIGHT at Freedom Church in Tallahassee. We are going to have a BLAST! Kids age four up to those who have completed fifth grade are welcome!

Volunteers, please be there at 5:00 if possible.

Friday 6:00-8:30 (check in starts at 5:40)
Saturday 10:00-3:00 (check in starts at 9:40)
Sunday 10:00 FAMILY DAY in the main auditorium! Parents, we want YOU to come experience VBS with us! Free cookout, bounce house, and dunk tank to follow!

VBS is free to kids! We are collecting optional donations each day for Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge. One hundred percent of donations will be sent to workers serving halfway around the world! The pastor with the most "votes" (donations) in their bucket will get dunked on Sunday.

We can’t wait for this West Florida Girls’ Ministry event!

Date: August 15
Location: Freedom Church
Time: 9:30-3:00
Ages: 5-11 years
Cost: $30 per girl (lunch is included; an event t-shirt is available at an extra cost and must be pre-ordered)

We will take a look throughout the Bible to see women God called and used to make a difference in the world around them. As we look at these incredible women, their stories teach us how to trust, lead, pray, fight, rejoice, sacrifice, love, serve, and be the women God has designed us to be. We were created for such a time as this!

Junior Bible Quiz Nationals

We are finished! The kids quizzed hard today, had some really close matches, and picked up one more win. We finished in Level 6, 10th place, which is a big improvement from last year! There are 8 levels in total.

Luke went up on stage to be recognized for earning his Bible Master Award, and Dorothy was recognized for receiving her Bible Excellence Award! Both awards are a big deal and require many hours of study. For the Bible Master Award, a student has to have enough knowledge of the whole question set (576 questions) to answer 60 random questions pulled from the 10s, 20s, and 30s, and he or she can only get one wrong. Congratulations, Luke!

The Bible Excellence Award is even harder. A student has to learn all 576 questions AND be able to answer all of them in one sitting. He or she can only get five incorrect. The process takes more than two hours in total, requiring amazing memory skills and mental endurance. Dorothy worked so hard to earn this award, and she was so proud to go up on stage! She also earned the Bible Quoter Award, which means she answered all 94 of the quotation questions and was WORD PERFECT in all of them, without omitting, repeating, or changing a single word.

We graduated our sixth graders, Dorothy, Conley, and Daniel, out of our JBQ ministry. They have been a blessing to us and will continue to be a blessing to others as they grow.

Junior Bible Quiz Nationals

We had a great afternoon! After the morning seven rounds, we were sorted again based on our performance and ended up in the “kindness” group. We quizzed four rounds and had a bye, and the kids won three of the four!

The way they sort the teams changed this year, and it’s a little complicated, but we will quiz in level 6 tomorrow (out of eight) to determine our final ranking.

We also had an awesome time worshipping God in the service after quizzing ended, with lots of fun and craziness as well.

Tomorrow we start again bright and early!
