Join us for a special evening led by Trine, a trio of dedicated sound healing practitioners on a mission to bring harmony and well-being through the power of sound. Together, we will celebrate the long-awaited sun-filled days of summer. We will begin promptly at 6 p.m., so we recommend arriving at 5:30 p.m. to set up your space.

Dress comfortably and bring a yoga mat, pillow, and blanket. (We suggest cushioned mats as our wood floor is a hard surface. We also highly recommend eye masks – disposable ones will be provided if you do not have your own – as the venue has a few auxiliary lights we cannot turn off. Otherwise, we will keep the room as dark as possible.)

If you are bringing your own chair in lieu of a mat, please set up on the perimeter to not obscure sound waves.

Beverages and snacks will be served after the sound bath concludes. Stay for fellowship and conversation. There will be a $15 registration fee to help cover our costs. (Confidential scholarships available upon request).

Sunshine, sandcastles, and new friendships! ☀️🏖️

This past Saturday, we spent a beautiful day on St. George Island with our new Director of Youth and Family Ministries, Hannah Shelly. We built sandcastles, splashed in the waves, soaked up the sunshine, and most importantly, spent time getting to know one another.

We’re so excited to welcome Hannah to St. John’s and grateful for opportunities like this to build community, share laughter, and create memories together. Here's to a wonderful summer ahead!

In a world that feels like it’s changing faster than ever, many of us are asking how to stay grounded, healthy, and hopeful. As technology reshapes our lives and the future feels increasingly uncertain, caring for both our physical and spiritual well-being has never been more important.

This past Saturday, St. John’s was honored to welcome Dean Kate Moorehead Carroll for a workshop based on her new book, Vital Signs of Faith: Finding Health in Your Spiritual Life. Through engaging presentations and meaningful conversation, participants explored how the health of our spiritual lives can be measured and nurtured—much like doctors assess the health of our bodies. Together, we reflected on four essential “vital signs” of faith: God, Give, Grow, and Group.

Thank you, Dean Kate, for sharing your wisdom and encouraging us to cultivate a faith that is resilient, life-giving, and rooted in community. And thank you to the team at St. John’s Cathedral for partnering with us for this meaningful event.

Interested in learning more? Pick up a copy of Vital Signs of Faith through the cathedral bookstore and continue the journey of strengthening your spiritual health.

Everybody wants to belong.

This Sunday, Fr. Lonnie kicked off our summer sermon series, Being Church Together, a journey through Paul’s Letter to the Romans and one of the biggest questions of the Christian life: How does God make a people?

In a world that often tells us we have to earn our place, the Gospel offers a different message. We belong not because we passed a test or proved ourselves worthy, but because God made a promise. God is still saying “yes” where the world says “no,” still creating a community where people from every background can become family.

Join us this summer as we explore what it means to be the Church—together.

St. John's Episcopal Church and the Front Porch is delighted to welcome "Vital Signs of Faith: Finding Health in Your Spiritual Life" author, The Very Rev. Kate Moorehead Carroll, for an engaging multi-media presentation on Saturday, June 6, 10 AM in Killeen Hall.

As the world changes rapidly, Christianity too is changing. Amid this transition, questions arise: How do we know if we are being faithful? How do we know if we are practicing our faith adequately? Just as doctors measure vital signs when determining the health of the body, so we must learn to recognize the vital signs of the life of the spirit as we move into a post-Christian age. We can learn how to cultivate and nourish our faith by paying attention to the four vital signs: God, Give, Grow, and Group.

Small, incremental changes in behavior can improve our physical health, lowering our blood pressure for instance. Author Kate Moorehead Carroll contends the same is true for our spiritual health and offers thoughtful and challenging ways to measure the vital signs of faith so we might improve our spiritual health and find again the essence of our life together, the breath of God in each of us.

Appropriate for all ages.
