Update for Sunday, Dec. 5:

i.Morning Service (approx. 30 attendees)
"God is not through with Israel" (Romans 2:1-15)
--Paul devoted Romans 2 to presenting proof that God still has plans for Israel. We must not apply this chapter to the church today, though!
--The Nation shall see Him as He returns (Zech. 14:4).
--Israel will recognize Jesus as their Messiah (Rev. 1:7).
--1. Israel fell (v. 11).
2. It was diminished (v. 12).
3. It was cast away (v. 15).
This resulted in the Gospel coming to the Gentiles (non-Jewish people); however, God has promised that Israel will yet be restored (Jer. 31:35-37).
iii.Christmas play parts are being assigned!

i.Sunday School (9 attendees)
"Mary Visits Elizabeth" (Luke 1: 39-56)
--Memory Verse: "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord" (Luke 2:11).
ii.Three new kids attended!
iii.We practiced for the Dec. 18 Christmas play!

Yesterday evening, Pastor McDonald detoured from the Gospel of John and taught from Proverbs 16:1-4, "The Time is Now." Here is the main point, with a brief outline:
Everyone makes decisions, and the Bible, God's word, should be the basis for those decisions.

I. The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD. (Prov. 16:1) We may make plans, but God determines the outcome.

II. All the was of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weighteth the spirits. (Prov. 16:2) A person may think nothing is wrong with what s/he does; outwardly it may seem innocent, but God knows his/her heart. III. Commit thy works unto the LORD and thy thoughts shall be established. (Prov. 16:3) If we recognize God's Sovereignty, trust His goodness, and entrust out plans/lives into His keeping, He will guide our steps and bring our plans about--but according to His purposes and His righteousness.

IV. The LORD hath made all things for himself: yeah, even the wicked for the day of evil.
