Our vision of the Spirit's movement in and among us is cloudy. We are distracted by uncertainty, our own egos, what we think should happen and who is "in" or "out." And yet, there are some among us who seem to have "eyes to see."

Who are the people in your life who have eyes to see - physically or metaphorically - the movement of God's Spirit working in and among us? How can you recognize and affirm their special gifts today?

Blessed Jesus, lead us to people and partners in peace who help us perceive your work in the world. Amen.

There's something about having a hymn or verse in your back pocket. There are folks long into their journey with dementia and who, when the first chords of "Amazing Grace," are played, smile and mouth the words. There are bible verses that ground us in times of anxiety and depression.

Psalms contain powerful truths that give us steady ground to stand upon and a safe harbor in storms. The Lord is our strength, fortress, rock and deliverer (Psalm 18:1-2).

What piece of scripture, hymn, or song is tugging on your heart today? Pick a verse or refrain and carry it with you for a couple of days. You may be surprised by how it changes your entire week.

God of grace, feed my soul with your scripture. Ground me daily in your word. Amen.

Are you looking for some fun ways to make a joyful noise to the Lord? Then come join us this Fall in our bell choir and in our chancel choir! Practices start on Wednesday, September 16 with bell choir at 6:30 and chancel choir at 7:30. Let's sing and ring our praises!
