You do not have to figure out the right words. Just talk to God.

Dear Father, I have a lot on my mind today, and You already know every bit of it. You know what I’m worried about, what I’m trying to fix, and what I can’t control.

You said: "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me." John 14:1

Help me give it all to You instead of carrying it all by myself. Give me peace, wisdom, and the faith to trust You with what happens next.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Deer never seem to worry about where there next meal will come from. They find their way to my yard and have plenty to eat.

But it made me wonder ... where do I turn when I need something. When I'm anxious, discouraged or overwhelmed?

There's One who is in control of all and who loves me more than I can ever imagine.
He is the one I need to always rely on.

The Hardest Part of Love

When we see someone we love stuck in a destructive cycle, our immediate instinct is to jump in and fix it for them. But what if our "rescue" is actually getting in the way of a vital life lesson?

A real-life encounter with a turtle on a train track taught me an agonizing spiritual truth: you cannot force help on someone who isn't ready to be helped. Sometimes, letting go of control is the highest form of love.

My tire was flat.

That day I learned a lesson about fear. I'd recently bought a portable device that could inflate tires, recharge a battery in more. It's a necessity when you live in the middle of nowhere. I charged my tire and headed to town.

But a conversation with a friend had me really worried. What if I can't make it?

Then I was reminded of Psalm 56:3, "When I am afraid, I put my trust in you."

Here's the lesson I learned: Faith isn't pretending we're never afraid. It's deciding whose voice we will trust when we are."

Will you trust God?
