AUCTION EXTENDED!

United Church in Tallahassee would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who visited us today at the Artisan Market, and to all of our wonderful donors who created some truly amazing Silent Auction items!

We have extended the Silent Auction bidding through Sunday, November 9th at 8pm to allow a bit more time to get last minute bids in!! These items are truly one of a kind and are ready to take home or give as a fantastic holiday gift.

We made the paper! Come see us at 1834 Mahan Drive until 2 pm today, Nov. 8.

The quilt raffle proceeds will benefit the Family and Immigration Rights Center, which provides free or low-cost deportation defense services.

It’s almost time! Did you get your quilt raffle tickets yet? One lucky name will be drawn at 1:30 pm on Saturday, November 8.

Our Grateful Threads sewing group has been busy and this king-size quilt is their most ambitious one yet! Two teenagers even participated in the construction this year, learning alongside our sewing veterans.

And it’s all for a good cause—100% of the proceeds wil go to Tallahassee’s Family and Immigration Rights Center , the only local organization providing free or low-cost deportation defense services.

🌿 Locally Made, Lovingly Preserved

Every jar tells a story — of care, craft, and community. From rich hot fudge to jewel-toned jellies and jams, each batch is lovingly prepared by members of the United Church in Tallahassee. These homemade creations capture the sweetness of the season and the spirit of service that runs through our congregation.

Proceeds from the Artisan Market help fund local initiatives in justice, compassion, and care — from feeding neighbors in need, to supporting equality and access for all.

Myrna Dowdell first picked up a paintbrush in 2001 during a class with friends, and what began as a pastime quickly blossomed into a lifelong passion. With no formal training but a heart full of creativity, she’s painted countless one-of-a-kind treasures — from delicate ornaments and mugs to her own breathtaking 87-piece dinner set, used and loved every day. 🍽️✨

Whimsical stitches, joyful colors, and handmade magic. 💜✨

Artist Grace Fennema of Grace Makes learned to crochet at just eight years old, sitting beside her grandmother with a hook and a heap of curiosity. After years of creating on instinct, Grace taught herself to read patterns in 2022 during recovery from a back injury — and by the very next year, she was “hooked” on craft fairs and crowned a true Market Queen! 👑🧵

Grace loves experimenting with creative color work, infusing her signature favorites—purple and rainbow hues—into plushies, baby items, home goods, and anything her imagination can dream up. People especially delight in her hand-embroidered eyes, which give her plushies unique personality while providing a safer alternative to plastic eyes for people of all ages.
