BRING THEM TO ME
LUKE 18:15-17

Jesus clearly taught that He wants each of us to have the humility of children: “He called a little child to him and placed the child among them. And he said: ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven’” (Matthew 18:2–4).

What does this mean? Jesus is talking about humility. Jesus is exhorting us to seek the humility of a child—to have a faith destitute of ambition, pride, and haughtiness. Children are teachable, and we should be, too. The Bible is clear, Jesus loves the little children of the world.

A CULTURE OF REBELLION
EPHESIANS 6:1-3

With the church willing to play down or even negate its own authority, can it be surprising that those under its teaching mimic its reluctance to lead? Husbands and fathers no longer act as masters over their own families, but allow their wives to assume the leadership functions. Fathers and mothers alike permit their children to wander aimlessly in a cultural morass. Then they wonder what has happened to the child’s mind. The bible gives clear instructions of how parenthood and childhood works.

MAKING GOOD OF BAD SITUATION
ROMANS 8:28

Romans 8:28 does not promise better conditions for Christians, or that you’ll have better circumstances. No. It means that God will take the bad things in your life and turn them into good. It won’t always be a nice and comfortable experience and will test your patience and faith. But remember Jesus promises to be with us always, right till the end of this age. He will make better of that negative situation you are in. Confused on how?

THE THEOLOGY OF THANKSGIVING
PSALM 100:1-5

The gifts, works, and actions of God are windows allowing us to see who God is, and who he is for us. A theology of thanksgiving to God is therefore a conduit of communion with God. Gratitude for what God has done produces worship because of who God is.

Psalm 100 is a Psalm of the future millennial kingdom it describes what worship will be like in the day when the Lord Jesus Christ reigns in glory and power upon the earth. We are not in that glorious day right now, but we are in the family of God and we are commanded to gather ourselves together and worship Him in His church, Hebrews 10:25.

With that in mind, let it be said that this Psalm tells us exactly what everyone ought to bring to church when they come. This weekend we shall take a look at how we should be thankful according to this psalm.

The apostle Paul stated, “I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands…” (1 Timothy 2:8). When we lift our hands to Heaven, we therefore present everything we are, everything we have done, and everything we have to God.

What's the purpose of lifted hands? For some, it's a sign of surrender to God. It may be an act of adoration and praise. Or, it can be a visible expression of our dependence, like a young child who lifts up hands to a mother or father.

“THIS SUNDAY!!!!!!” 11/19/2023 – SOHLMEDITATIONS SUNDAY MORNING TEACHING NEVER FORSAKE THE SPIRITUAL 2 CORINTHIANS 5:16

The question I want to ask you today is, are you tending your inner fire? “Untended fires soon die out and become just a pile of ashes.” Even if you’ve been a Christian for many years, are you still actively, persistently seeking the Lord? The lesson of Asa is, if we seek the Lord, He will strongly support us, but if we forsake Him, we will come under His discipline.

Are we seeking Him? We must remember, God is a spirit, and we must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth! Never forsake the spiritual perspective. It should always be first.

TO KNOW OR NOT TO KNOW (THE GIFT OF DISCERNMENT)
HEBREWS 5:12-14

There is a difference between Discernment (a process of sifting out a wise decision) and Discernment of S/spirits (a gift of the Spirit enabling believers to know whether something is divine, merely human or Satanic in origin). Not many authors note the (significant) difference. Few interact with the Bible to study into and understand how these approaches work…

Discernment is one of the quieter gifts. Those who have it rarely speak up unless they discern it’s safe to do so. Be courageous to use the discernment God gives you. You may feel like you’re the only one who sees things as you do. But by sharing your insight, a fresh breeze of clarity can dispel the clouds of confusion and you’ll fulfill your role in the body of Christ.

THE BENEFITS OF MAKING THE SPIRIT FIRST - FREEDOM – PT. 5
EXODUS 2:23-25

In the “land of the free,” we often confuse the true nature of freedom. For many of us, freedom has become synonymous with personal independence — the ability to make our own decisions and choose our own path in life, to do whatever we want, whenever we want. It’s what I call “outside freedom.” But this is not the freedom in Christ that we have been given.

When Jesus revealed himself as the Messiah, He said that He had come to Earth to “proclaim freedom” (Luke 4:18). And on another occasion, He said, “If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36). Jesus was not setting us free to do whatever we wanted; He was freeing us to do what we ought to do.

TEACHING
THE SPIRIT OF PASSION
ACTS 2:1-8

Passion for God is a powerful statement. One of the definitions of passion is intense enthusiasm for something, a keen interest in something. So, when we say that we have passion for God, we’re stating that we have an intense enthusiasm for God, a keen interest in Him. Some synonyms for passion are excitement, zeal, delight, fervency, desire, hunger, thirst, craving, conviction, drive. When we say we are passionate for God, we are speaking in terms of having desire, hunger, thirst, a craving for Him. That we have zeal and drive, fervency and excitement, and of course, love.

Realizing His passion for those who don’t yet know Him motivates us to do our best to let people know that there is someone who deeply loves them and wants to be a part of their life. God’s passion becomes our mission.
