Steele
The vision for Faith Street actually started in 1952 when my father Rev. Dr. C. Steele Sr. answered the call to pastor Bethel Missionary Baptist Church here in Tallahassee, Fl. His heart was ignited with a passion for the lost and a desire to see Tallahassee and the nation rise to its greatest potential through the power of Christ and the love of God. As the Lord used him to help transfor
m this nations unjust policies through powerful collaborations with such people as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Governor Leroy Collins and many others, God has now given to us in this present time the charge to unite a people to bring healing and wholeness to this community through the gospel of Jesus Christ. Walking out the dream and vision of our forefathers, we are bringing together people from all walks of life to realize their potential and calling in Christ Jesus. We are assembling teams to shine forth the love and light of God into a dark world proclaiming the kingdom of God in the earth. Having answered the call of God on my life, serving in the ministry for over 25 years, preaching and teaching the word of God, I am anointed by his Spirit and well equipped to carry out the duties as CEO and lead Pastor of this ministry. Originally beginning in ministry under my father at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church at the age of eighteen; and later receiving ministerial credentials under his successor Rev. Herbert Alexander in 1980. I have preached and ministered extensively throughout the local area and beyond. After a time of wayward living and drug addiction my life hit rock bottom. In and out of institutions and programs for several years, my life seemed over. However through a series of divine events sparked by the prayers and intervention of a loving wife and a caring brother, I entered the Disc Village Natural Bridge Recovery Program where God turned my life around. As a graduate of the program in 1993, I was hired on a year later as the Chaplain for the DISC Village Recovery Programs in Woodville, Fl. It was my distinct pleasure to serve in that position, faithfully providing weekly worship services for 5 different programs there for a tenure of 16 years. God has since miraculously allowed me to further my education at the Tallahassee Bible Institute and to later receive an Associates and Bachelor’s degree at Covenant Bible College and Seminary. Understanding the trials and struggles of addiction and destitution, I have a burning desire and heavenly mandate to help those who are where I was. Having received ministerial credentials with the Son-shine Network Conference of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC) in 1994, I have been privileged to serve in various volunteer capacities at Christian Heritage Church (CHC) of Tallahassee, FL, under the leadership of Pastor Robert Shelley and later Pastor Richard Ledford II. After developing a very vibrant and effective prison ministry at CHC, I was hired on staff as the Addictions Recovery Pastor where we designed and implemented a very successful recovery ministry and support group called F.I.R.M. (Free Indeed Recovery Ministry). It was also my pleasure to serve as Outreach Pastor for CHC, working with Pastor Steve Payne (Pastor Pizza) and the Sidewalk Sunday School, planning and producing community outreach events every quarter. Presently we are serving at the Restoration Place Tallahassee Church under the leadership of Pastor Richard Ledford, providing help with pastoral care, ministering in the local jail monthly.Having facilitated a weekly addiction recovery class called “Proclaim”; my wife Louise and I both serve on the Easy Evangelism team, as well as the prayer and counseling ministry. We are presently translating our gifts in a new direction to follow the call that God has now given us. We are excited about what God is doing and the great things he has in store for the future.
