St. John's is excited to welcome Tim Ternes, Director of Programming for The Saint John's Bible for two days of events exploring the incredible illuminations in The Saint John's Bible. On February 28 and 29, we will have four events where Tim will lead groups of all ages through scripture as we continue on our journey through the Year of the Bible. Tim is an experienced speaker who has a way of opening your eyes to fresh ways of seeing those familiar Bible stories.
Tim will also be bringing with him an additional Heritage Edition volume: The Wisdom Books. You don't want to miss the chance to see even more beautiful images and text from this volume.
Here are the events planned:
2/28, 9AM-12PM - A Morning Lenten Retreat: "For She is a Reflection of Eternal Light: Women and Wisdom in The Saint John's Bible." RSVP online.
2/28, 5:30-6:30PM - Choral Evensong and Dinner for All Ages - Led by the St. John‘s Choir School, Fr. Lonnie, Mtr. Leslie, and Tim Ternes, children of all ages are welcome and encouraged at this service which features a unique opportunity to see The Saint John’s Bible up close as well as scripture and music that emphasize the importance of learning! Stay for fellowship and a dinner.
2/29, 7-8AM - Men's Bible Study: John's Prologue - Hosted by the Men's Bible Study, all are welcome to examine John's Prologue (John 1:1-18).
2/29, 5:30-7PM - An Evening of Word & Image: God's Love Story for Humanity - Following a light reception, special guest speaker Tim Ternes will lead us through Visio Divina (a “sacred seeing”) of The Saint John’s Bible as we consider the Bible as God’s never-ending love story for all of humanity. RSVP online.
