Work Day #2 at Rainbow Omega, Eastaboga, Alabama in the books! We finalized framing up the wooden carport that will house the golf carts for the facility. Tomorrow, we put the metal roof on! Today was our first work day at Rainbow Omega, Eastaboga, Alabama. Our project this week is to build a carport to park some specialized golf carts under. By lunch time, we had our post holes dug and our posts set. After lunch, we moved an existing carport to another area on the property. We are really enjoying the staff at Rainbow Omega! They are some amazing people and have been a blessing to serve!

We made it to ! We drove through a crazy storm on the way to Shocco Springs Baptist Conference Center but we made it safely. We are in our first night of worship now. Please be in prayer for our students as they serve this community this week and as they encounter Jesus!

Join us tonight at 6:00 pm for food and fellowship as we have a church-wide cook out to raise money for our Youth Summer Mission Trip to Student Life! We will be cooking hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill, along with all the fixins. You do not have to bring a side dish (unless you just want to, in which case we would love to have it). Come fellowship with us tonight!

On Sunday, we see the culmination of the entire week and the most important event of the Christian faith.

Early Sunday morning, several women that were close to Jesus go to the tomb and find the stone rolled away and an angel who announces, “Don’t be afraid! I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen” (Matthew 28:5-6, NLT).

On Sunday, the Bible tells us that Jesus appeared to at least five people. There is considerable evidence from secular scholars that many people saw the Risen Jesus.

Today, on Easter Sunday, Christians celebrate this foundation of our faith, that Jesus was risen on the third day after His death, fulfilling prophecies found throughout the Old Testament. In conquering sin and death itself, He offeres forgiveness and redemption for our lives and the world.

Saturday was the Sabbath, a day when Jewish people are commanded to do no work. After the Sabbath ended at 6 p.m., people went to the tomb to do the ceremonial preparation for burial.

Knowing that Jesus said He was going to rise again after 3 days, the Jewish leaders went to the Roman governors and requested that the tomb be guarded so that no one would steal the body and lie about His resurrection.

The Governor put a seal on the stone and a guard at the tomb.
