Zion Church Restoration Inc

Zion Church Restoration Inc Zion Episcopal Church, Talbotton, Ga was built in 1848 in the wooden Gothic Revival style. The Georgia Trust continues to hold a conservation easement on Zion.

A rare treasure it can be used for weddings, music and cultural events, seminars, filming and other events. 1848 Zion Episcopal Church is managed by Zion Church Restoration, Inc. In 2019, the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta deeded Zion Church to the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation who then in turn deeded it to Zion Church Restoration. The exterior of Zion was in critical condition. We comple

ted in early Nov. 2020 a $257,000 exterior restoration. The inside is in remarkable condition. It is also home to an 1850's Pilcher Organ - the only one of that model working in the United States. There are additional projects to complete at Zion as well as ongoing care and operation costs. Funds are always needed. The church has not had an on-site congregation in decades. Although services by any denomination are welcome at Zion Church, Zion is available for many uses. Our vision: To preserve Zion church for current and future generations. To be an integral part of the Talbotton community by offering to and engaging the broader community in events focused on music, the arts, history and architecture. Tours are welcome and can be arranged. We are following COVID safety guidelines. At this moment small groups of ten are welcomed and masks are required. Some places are built to be remembered.

For nearly two centuries, these walls have witnessed stories of faith, perseverance, music, and community. On October 24, they will welcome another chapter.

The Blues returns to Historic Zion.

Join us for a full day of unforgettable music, led by Artistic Director Jontavious Willis, celebrating the artists, traditions, and rich heritage that continue to shape the blues today.

Throughout the day, you'll find live performances, harmonica and dance workshops, local artists and makers, food vendors, and special VIP experiences, all gathered beneath the oaks and around one of Georgia's most remarkable historic landmarks.

Follow this page and our Facebook Event for artist announcements, schedules, and festival updates in the weeks ahead.

Tickets are available now through the link below. If you can't join us in person, your donation helps preserve Historic Zion while supporting this celebration of music, history, and community.
