Cornerstone Fellowship

Cornerstone Fellowship A non-denominational church in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. We believe the Bible is the inspired and only infallible written Word of God.
(271)

We believe there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal future return to this earth in p

ower and glory. We believe the only means of being cleansed from sin is through believing in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and confessing with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord." We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit empowering and enabling the Christian to live a holy life in this present world, and to minister as Jesus did. We believe that Baptism is an ordinance of the Church. We believe in the resurrection of all men, both the saved and the lost. The saved shall be raised to everlasting life and the lost to everlasting condemnation.

Our series through the book of Jonah continues this weekend.

In Jonah 3, we see a reluctant prophet, a repentant city, and a merciful God who offers another chance. Pastor Josh will be sharing how God can use one act of obedience to make an eternal difference.

Help us prepare for a fun and welcoming evening for the families in our community by donating bags of individually wrapped candy. Simply bring your donations with you on Sunday and drop them off in the foyer.

Every bag of candy helps us share the love of Jesus with those who walk through our 2nd annual Trunk or Treat. Thank you for helping make Trunk or Treat a special night for our community!

Not every open door is from God.

In 1 Samuel 24, David was given what looked like the perfect opportunity. Saul had been hunting him, trying to kill him, and now Saul walked directly into the cave where David and his men were hiding.

David’s men were convinced this had to be God.

But David understood something we desperately need to remember: favorable circumstances are not the same thing as God’s will.

David refused to sin in order to obtain something God had already promised him. He would rather wait for God to give him the throne than compromise his character to take it for himself.

His response teaches us three important principles:
1. Someone else’s sin against you does not give you permission to sin against them.
2. An open door is not always God’s will, so every opportunity must be tested by the truth of Scripture.
3. We can respect authority without approving wrongdoing, while leaving vengeance and judgment in God’s hands.
