'Participants Needed for a Research Study.
As a doctoral candidate in the Department of Community Care and Counseling at Liberty University, Chuck is conducting research as part of the requirements for a Doctor of Education degree. The purpose of his study is to describe the lived experiences of Millennial Cherokee tribal members from Oklahoma with their cultural identity, and he is inviting eligible individuals to participate.
To qualify, participants must:
Be between the ages of 30 and 45, born between 1981 and 1996
Be willing to provide documentation, if requested, showing either:
United Keetoowah Band membership with at least 25% blood quantum, or
Cherokee Nation membership as a descendant of original Dawes Rolls allottees
Reside in one of the following Oklahoma counties: Adair, Cherokee, Craig, Delaware, Mayes, McIntosh, Muskogee, Nowata, Ottawa, Rogers, Sequoyah, Tulsa, Wagoner, or Washington.
Participants will be asked to take part in an audio- and video-recorded interview, either in person or via Zoom.
The interview will take approximately 45–60 minutes. Names and other identifying information will be collected for study purposes; however, participant identities will not be disclosed.
