When was the last time you truly rested? Not just collapsed on the couch scrolling, but actually experienced the peace God designed for you?
This week we're starting "Trial Run Jesus" by exploring the most counterintuitive practice: Sabbath rest. God doesn't need rest, but He modeled it for us in Genesis 2. Jesus reminds us in Mark 2 that "the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath." It's a gift, not a burden.
Here's your challenge: Analog your Sunday. Put your phone in airplane mode for a set amount of time. Start with 4 hours if 24 seems impossible. Read that book. Play board games. Take a walk uninterrupted. Discover what it means to rest hard, not just work hard.

Are you exhausted from following leaders who disappoint? Tired of life hacks that fall short?

Come to Me and Find Rest
What if the exhaustion you're carrying was never meant to be yours?
In our latest message from John 10, we explored Jesus' powerful declaration: "I am the gate." Just like we try to cram oversized luggage onto a plane, we're carrying weights we were never designed to bear—anxiety from endless scrolling, toxic content, past hurts, or even good things that crowd out what matters most.
Jesus offers something radically different: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). He's not asking you to carry more. He's inviting you to set it down and walk through the gate to true rest.
As we approach Easter, what's keeping you from entering that rest? Join us Palm Sunday (March 29, 6pm at Parkland), Good Friday (April 3, 7pm at Graham), and Easter Sunday (9 & 11am at Graham, 9am &10:30am at Parkland) as we journey toward resurrection hope.

We all know what it feels like to be hungry for something deeper—peace, security, reassurance that we're going to be okay. We chase approval, control, and comfort, trying to fill a soul-sized hunger with snack-sized solutions. But what if we're looking in all the wrong places?
In John 6:35, Jesus makes a bold declaration: "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry." He's not offering temporary relief or better circumstances—He's offering Himself. Not bread for a day, but bread for life. The crowd wanted a provider; Jesus came to be a Savior.
This Sunday, we explored how Jesus refuses to be reduced to our agenda. He doesn't shame hungry people—He feeds them. When we stop working for what spoils and simply come to Him, our souls finally learn what it means to be satisfied. Your identity doesn't have to be rented out to approval or anchored in achievement. It can be rooted in Christ.

In the light of Jesus, you learn that no failure is final. There is redemption even for you. And in the light of Jesus, you learn that death and injustice do not get the last word.

When there's nothing good, anything less than good will suffice. But God's Word offers us something better.
In Genesis 1-2, we discover God's original design: men and women created as equal image bearers (Selem), co-laborers (Etzer), and partners in representing God's presence (Selah). Not objects. Not threats. Not competitors. But partners who rise or fall together.
Jesus embodied this perfectly. He traveled with women, empowered them, and chose them to preach the first Easter message. He showed us what true masculinity looks like—strength paired with dignity, power paired with respect.
Culture offers toxic scripts about masculinity and relationships. But we have a better story. We follow the One who treated every person with the honor they deserved as God's image bearers. That's the vision worth pursuing.
#BiblicalMasculinity #GenesisVision #ImageBearers #HealthyRelationships #FollowJesus
The pack always wins - so choose wisely.
King David shows us that real strength isn't found in isolation, but in deep, committed friendships. He had Jonathan, who loved him as a brother. He had Nathan, who spoke truth when he needed it most. He built community wherever he went, even in the wilderness.
Our culture tells men they should be self-sufficient lone wolves. But God designed us for relationship. We need brothers who have our backs, who call us out when we're drifting, and who celebrate our victories. Not just online connections, but real-life friendships where we can express emotion, ask for help, and do life together.
Who's the friend you need to reach out to today? Don't wait. Go first. Invite someone to join you in what you're already doing. The pack is stronger together.
(1 Samuel 18:1-4, 2 Samuel 12:1-13)

What does real strength look like? Culture tells us it's about force, control, and domination. But Jesus shows us something radically different.
True masculine strength isn't found in power over others. It's found in sacrifice for others. Isaiah 32 describes the Messiah's strength as "a shelter from the wind, a refuge from the storm, streams of water in a thirsty land." That's the power of the cross. That's the strength that changes the world.
God rejected King Saul's warrior mentality and chose David, a shepherd who used his strength to protect the vulnerable. And David pointed us to Jesus. The ultimate expression of power used perfectly. Jesus had all authority in heaven and earth, yet He chose to heal, forgive, and die for those who loved Him AND those who hated Him.
Real strength is shaped like a cross. Join us as we explore what Scripture really says about masculinity and strength.

What would change if "He > i" moved from the back of a car bumper to the front of your mind?
John the Baptist understood this deeply: "He must become greater, I must become less" (John 3:30). Faithfulness isn't just about being reliable—it's about rooting our entire lives in keeping step with the Spirit. Not dropping the baton like the US men's relay team, but staying in sync with God's rhythm.
Here's the beautiful promise: God gives the Spirit WITHOUT LIMIT (John 3:34). When we repent of what's blocking the fruit of the Spirit in our lives—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, self-control—we open ourselves to unlimited divine resources.
This week, ask yourself: Where do I need less of me and more of Him? The answer might surprise you. Revival starts with God's people choosing repentance and keeping in step with His Spirit.

"Jesus offers peace and joy not as alternatives to life storms, but realities to experience within those storms. Not everything has to be shiny and nice and joyful and worthy of putting on a Christmas card at the end of the year for you to have peace and joy."

Sometimes the most meaningful spiritual growth happens when we slow down, connect with others, and discover how God is at work in our everyday lives. Rooted creates space for real conversations, shared stories, and community so you don’t have to follow Jesus alone.

This week, we explored how we can respond to the injustices around us. Inspired by the book of Amos, we learned that true change starts from within and leads to action. One initiative we discussed is the Good Neighbor Village, a community-focused approach to addressing homelessness. It’s about more than just providing shelter; it’s about creating a supportive environment where everyone can thrive.
Change begins with small steps. Whether it’s lending a hand to a neighbor, volunteering, or simply spreading kindness, every action counts. Let’s work together to create a world where justice and compassion flow freely.
How will you make a positive impact this week? Let’s take a step forward together. 💪❤️

Pride isn't just thinking too highly of yourself.
It's thinking too little of others.
If you’ve ever said:
👉 “That’s not my problem.”
👉 “They got what they deserved.”
👉 “They should’ve done it the right way.”
Obadiah has a word for you.
And it’s not subtle.
The truth? God doesn’t call us to stand on a mountaintop and watch others fall.
He calls us to love like Jesus—the older brother who didn't stay above it all. He came down, stood in the rubble with us, and made us family.
"The gospel doesn't just save individuals, it creates a new people. Our new identity in Christ is not simply theoretical, and it's not just theological. It means that it's meant to be our new identity as brothers and sisters in Christ across different ethnic lines."

If you belong to Jesus, your first citizenship isn’t to a country—it’s to the Kingdom of God.
That means our loyalty, actions, and priorities must be shaped by His Kingdom first. Not comfort. Not culture. Not convenience.
Because if we’re busy preserving us, we might miss the Gospel—and the chance to share it.
