It’s Staff Spotlight Saturday! 🤩

David Boeckh, this summer’s Course Organist, is a familiar face to many in the PNW. David currently serves as Music Director at Church of the Ascension, Magnolia, Seattle. Originally from Seattle, David started playing the organ as a teenager when his family was living in Berlin, Germany. David continued his organ studies with Mel Butler at St. Mark’s Cathedral and went on to attend the University of Washington, Oberlin Conservatory, and Indiana University. A passionate church musician, David has served Episcopal congregations throughout the Pacific Northwest and the Midwest, and before coming to Ascension, David was the Associate Director of Music at St. James Cathedral in Chicago. David has a deep love for the Anglican choral tradition, especially the musical formation of children and the intersection between music and faith, and he is continually inspired by all the ways that beauty in worship can bring people closer to God.

David lives in West Seattle with his husband Nick, and when he is not playing the organ, he enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and cooking recipes from around the world. We can’t wait to have him with us in Tacoma this summer!

It's time for our first 2025 Staff Spotlight! ✨ We are thrilled to welcome Janet Yieh as our Music Director this year at RSCM West.

Janet Yieh is Director of Music at Church of the Heavenly Rest on the Upper East Side in New York City, where she oversees a vibrant music program for all ages, conducts the choirs and plays the 138-rank Austin Organ. For seven years, she served as Associate Organist at Trinity Church Wall Street, where she played weekly services, founded the St. Paul’s Chapel Choir, accompanied the Grammy-nominated Trinity Choir and Trinity Youth Chorus, and worked closely with the music and liturgy departments.
