What does it actually look like to live wisely? In James 3:13-18, the Apostle James draws a sharp contrast between two kinds of wisdom -- one that is genuine and comes from God, and one that is fraudulent, rooted in envy and selfish ambition.

True wisdom is not just knowledge. It is knowing how to live. And according to James, it shows up in humility -- in being peace-loving, considerate, merciful and sincere. Not heroic. Not self-advancing. Just faithfully, quietly blessing others.

The good life God designed is available to all of us, and it starts with cooperating with his way rather than our own. As James writes, peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.

As you move through this week, we encourage you to look for one concrete opportunity to act with humility -- to give, serve or make peace with no expectation of recognition or reward. We would love to hear your stories in the weeks ahead.

Words carry more weight than we realize. A single sentence can change a life, redirect a relationship, or start a fire that destroys everything in its path. This Sunday, we explored James 3 and discovered that the tongue is both a rudder that steers our lives and a spark that can burn down what we have built.

James reminds us that no human being can tame the tongue on their own. But that is exactly where the gospel steps in. Jesus did not come only to forgive careless words. He came to transform hearts, because out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks (Matthew 12).

This week, we are challenging our congregation to bless five people with specific, life-giving words. If you see something admirable in someone, say it. Let your words reflect the new heart Christ is building in you.

Faith is not just something you hold -- it is something you live. In James 2:14-26, we are confronted with a direct and uncomfortable truth: faith without deeds is dead. But faith that does move, is discipleship.
