What do donkeys have to do with anything?? Probably not much, except those donkeys really mattered to Saul's father. And because they mattered to the father, Saul's faithfulness in the task of seeking what mattered...MATTERED.

And that's a wrap on our Call series! Together we've been walking through 1 Samuel and discovering how to find, keep and grow God's call to purpose in our lives. If you missed any of this so, so good series (or any others) please head to discochurch.com/sermons to find the whole back catalog.

In the seasons of God's silence in your life, how do you prepare your body, soul and spirit to move, the moment the silence breaks?

For 20 years during Samuel's lifetime -- Samuel, the boy literally awakened and called by the voice of the Lord -- God was silent. Thirty thousand Israelites slaughtered. The ark stolen by their enemies. But then, after 20 years, the people of Israel turned back to the Lord. And somehow, after 20 years of God's silence, Samuel was primed, prepared, and fully spiritually conditioned to shepherd God's people.

How do we hold that tension without losing hope?
