St. Rita HIstory Trivia:

Last week's St. Rita history trivia question: What Jesuit priest met with Tacoma's Italian immigrants to help found St. Rita of Cascia Church? Many of you knew that this was Fr. Achilles Bruno S.J., who met with a group of 50 Italian men in February of 1922. A committee was formed to oversee the work of creating an Italian national parish. Within two months the money was raised to purchase vacant land and an adjacent house on St. 14th and Ainsworth Streets!!! Seems like a miracle to be able to accomplish this great achievement is such a short time.

This week's St. Rita history trivia question: When was the first Mass celebrated at the new St. Rita of Cascia Parish? Where was it celebrated? See less
