At the core of everything we do as a church is bringing glory to God (1 Corinthians 10:31).

This seminar is designed to teach us what the life of worship is all about - a life that is far more than Sunday mornings singing a song, but one of constant celebration of God's goodness and grace to us. God is seeking people to worship Him (John 4:23). Worship is the honest response to Someone who happens to be great beyond imagining.

At the end of this seminar, our hope is that we are more committed than ever to live every minute of our lives in the enjoyment of God who loves us. In this seminar, we learn how to love Him back - with our whole hearts.

Dinner and childcare are provided.

Join us for HYMN SING! This Sunday, March 13th, from 6 to 7 pm. Hymns are beautiful poetry firmly rooted in God's word and we never want them to fade away. We don't sing hymns because they are old, but because they have stood the test of time and are still as relevant today as when they were written! We are blessed to be a multi-generational church and we love singing contemporary worship songs as well as the hymns, so join us and let's keep passing these beautiful songs down through the generations.
"...speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart . . ." Ephesians 5: 19

I thought this from the AP might be slightly current, considering that bombs are falling again over Ukraine.

For 43 years, Zinaida Bragantsova had been telling people there was a World War II bomb buried under her bed.
The story began in 1941 when the Germans advanced toward the Ukrainian city of Berdyansk. One night at the very start of the war, she was sitting by the window and sewing on her machine. Suddenly a noise was heard and a whistling close by. She got up and in the following moment was struck by a blast of wind. When she came to, the sewing machine was gone and there was a hole in the floor as well as in the ceiling.
Zinaida couldn't get any officials to check out her story, so she just moved her bed over the hole and lived with it for the next 40 years. Finally, the woman's problem was uncovered. As phone cable was being laid in the area, demolition experts were called in to probe for buried explosives. "Where's your bomb, grandma?" asked the smiling army lieutenant sent to talk to Mrs. Bragantsova. "No doubt, under your bed?"
"Under my bed," she answered dryly.
And sure enough, there they found a 500-pound bomb. After evacuating 2,000 people from surrounding buildings, the bomb squad detonated the bomb. According to the report, "The grandmother, freed of her bomb, will soon receive a new apartment."
Many people live like that grandmother, with a bomb under the bed; a terrible secret, a great hurt, a seething anger that lies hidden for years while everyone goes on about their business. No one is safe until it's removed. The spring season is a perfect time to clean house--even to remove the hidden bombs that have weighed down your soul.

God calls us to be part of a wonderful family. He doesn't birth us and make us raise ourselves. He gathers us together with His other children in something He calls the CHURCH. This is far more than attending some church service once in a while. This family of people across the world is where Christ shows His glory and authority (Ephesians 1:22-23). Our congregation is just one local expression of Christ's sovereignty and love.

This seminar is designed to help us understand how our commitment to Christ also involves a commitment to be a contributing part of His Body. We talk about the doctrines and vision of our congregation. The distinctives of Fellowship Bible Church are highlighted in this seminar so that each person can make a responsible decision about becoming a member of Fellowship Bible Church.

Have you considered being a small group leader?

Join us on Sunday, October 3 at noon in the Fireside Room for some information and training to equip new small group leaders.

Our desire at FBC is to see every person connected to a small community of believers to walk alongside as we all follow Jesus. One of the ways we accomplish this is through small groups that meet during the week.

In order to meet our growing need for groups we need more faithful and available people to facilitate those groups. We know this might be frightening for some of you and so we are gathering all current leaders to share some of their best ministry insights with everyone who is interested in possibly becoming a small group leader. We will also go over a few basics of facilitating and shepherding a group. Our prayer is to find and equip those of you that the Lord is preparing for this very ministry.

Lunch and childcare will be provided. Please sign up so we can be prepared at fbctacoma.org/events

MEMBERS' MEETING on September 26th from 6:30-7:30pm - All members are encouraged to attend!
We will be presenting a number of items that will eventually be voted on. It is our goal to have member meetings three times a year for the purpose of corporate prayer, establishing greater communication between the leaders and the congregation, refocusing on our mission as a church, and addressing congregational needs such as voting in new members and new ministries.

Childcare is provided. Please sign up so we can be prepared with adequate caregivers. fbctacoma.org/events
