May is the month of Mother Mary and also the month of the Holy Cross Catholic Church Parish Pregnancy Aid Baby Shower.

You will find a travel baby crib set up in the vestibule where you can drop off your unwrapped gifts at the 5pm Saturday Vigil Mass and the 10:30am Sunday Mass every weekend of May.

Most needed items include infant, toddler and maternity clothes and diaper bags. Also needed are diapers, size 3-6 and Pull Ups.
All other baby gear and supplies are also needed.

Money, gift cards, and checks made out to Pregnancy Aid Tacoma are also very much appreciated.

The Pentecost Novena to the Holy🕊️Spirit for the protection of our parish homes begins today! Pray it daily, even after Pentecost, because God never turns His Face from a people who prays!

“Holy Spirit, Lord and Giver of Life, We turn to You with hope-filled hearts, lifting up our parish communities across Western Washington. From the shores of Puget Sound to the peaks of the Cascades we ask You to pour out Your grace upon our parishes.

Protect our sanctuaries, preserve our sacred spaces, and keep the Light of our parish communities shining brightly. Do not let our altars lay bare, the doors of our churches be closed.

Grant Your wisdom to our Archbishop, pastors, and parish leaders to build UP the Church! Guide their decisions with Your counsel and ignite the hearts of the faithful with a burning desire to stand and defend what their forefathers sacrificed to build.

Drive away all fear, greed, deceit, faithlessness, division, and discouragement
from our pews, rectories, and chancery offices and homes. Bless our archdiocese with an abundance of Priestly vocations.

Spare our spiritual homes—
places of healing, deep prayer, fellowship, and joyful service. Renew our minds and hearts to seek only Your will. Transform and keep safe our parish homes through the power of Your divine presence.

We ask this in Jesus’ Name and through the intercession of Your glorious spouse, Our Lady, Mother of the Church and Queen of our hearts. Amen.

The Holy Cross Parish Hall transformed into a lively community hub again this year for the annual Mother’s Day Breakfast hosted by the Holy Cross Knights of Columbus Council 16667.

Parishioners and neighbors from across town gathered after Mass to treat their moms to a delicious breakfast compliments of the Knights of Columbus, Holy Cross Tacoma just as they have done in the past and it just keeps on getting bigger and better every year!

The Crew works hard from setup to cleanup to gift the ladies with one of the best breakfasts in town.

This year the Knights served up pancakes, scrambled eggs, link sausages, and MIMOSAS!

Everyone had a great time and the word seemed to have gotten out because we now have brothers and sisters coming to Holy Cross Parish from other parishes to experience what has become to be known as, not only a great meal but, just an all-around fun time.

It always starts with The Crew +Yvonne (because everyone knows you need at least one woman in the kitchen to supervise).

For a few brief hours Holy Cross Parish Hall was filled with love, laughter, and joyful fellowship as friends and family sat elbow-to-elbow, swapping stories while the local Knights made sure every mom, grandma, aunt, sister, daughter, niece and granddaughter in attendance felt entirely celebrated.

Looking out over the sea of smiling faces and clinking plates, it was clear that the simple breakfast had accomplished exactly what it set out to do—bring the Holy Cross family and friends closer together.

One family was heard to say they already have next year’s Mother’s Day Breakfast marked on their calendar.

Our in-parish Knights had their monthly turn yesterday at our after-Sunday Mass Coffee hour always serving up hospitality, good cheer, awesome coffee, and GREAT donuts! The Holy Cross Knights of Columbus, Fr. John Renggli Council #16667 is an active, faith-based service group at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Tacoma, WA.

Always looking for a few more good men, the Holy Cross parish council meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM in the Parish Hall. They support parish life and the community through service initiatives and events, often promoting brotherhood among Catholic men.
