Lord Jesus, You gave your life for us. Your Sacred Heart is ablaze with love. Your hand extends towards me, and towards all, offering love, mercy, and healing. Sacred Heart of Jesus may your love transform me. Burn away my hesitation that I may become your love and radiate your mercy. Amen.

Saint of the Day: Saint Charles Lwanga and his companions were young Ugandan Catholics who gave their lives for Christ during the persecution of Christians in the Kingdom of Buganda in the late 1800s. Refusing to renounce their faith, these courageous martyrs remained steadfast in prayer and devotion even in the face of imprisonment and death. Led by Saint Charles Lwanga, they became powerful witnesses to the Gospel and reminders that holiness is possible at every age. Their sacrifice continues to inspire Catholics throughout the world, especially the growing Church in Africa, to remain faithful to Christ with courage, purity, and unwavering trust in God.

“Whatever has been rightly said by anyone in any place belongs to us Christians…” — St. Justin Martyr

Today we celebrate St. Justin Martyr, a philosopher, apologist, and saint who saw that all truth ultimately comes from God. Long before faith and reason were pitted against one another, Justin taught that Christians have nothing to fear from truth because Jesus Christ is Truth itself.

Wherever goodness, beauty, wisdom, and truth are found, they point back to their source: God. This is why the Catholic faith embraces both faith and reason, revelation and intellect, the heart and the mind.

In a culture that often forces us to choose between believing and thinking, St. Justin reminds us that the Christian life calls us to both. The more deeply we seek truth, the more deeply we encounter Christ.

St. Justin Martyr, pray for us.
